How to Transfer Podcasts From Your iPhone to the Computer

I've accumulated a lot of limited time podcasts downloaded straight to the iPhone, which have now all vanished from the iTunes store. Trying to save space on my iPhone by taking them off, but I can't find a way to save them to the PC. Tried Googling it, and typically all the results seem to be shifty looking ads for shifty looking software. Anyone know how it can be done?

I want to transfer podcasts from iphone to pc

Is there an way in which we could directly transfer podcasts from iPad to computer but not iTunes library? Of course, you could use some 3rd-party iPad data transfer software apps to carry out this task. The best one is Leawo iTransfer, a professional iOS data transfer software app that could help you directly transfer up to 14 types of data and files between iOS devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod), iTunes and computer, podcasts included. That means, you could directly transfer podcasts from iPad to computer without iTunes. Download Leawo iTransfer ' Leawo iTransfer for Mac and install it.

Step 1. Launch the software
Run the software and connect your iPad devices to computer with USB cable. You could see your iPad on the left sidebar.

Step 2. Choose podcasts to transfer from iPad to computer
Go to " iPad > Library > Podcasts" tab. Here you could view all podcasts on your iPad tablet, delete podcasts, and play back podcasts. Choose the one you want to transfer from iPad to computer. You could check all podcasts or just a few podcasts for transferring. After checking podcasts, right click and then choose "Transfer to > My Computer" option.

Step 3. Set output directory
Then, there will pop out a "Transfer" window to let you decide the output directory. On the "Save to folder" box, set an output directory to save the podcasts from iPad on your computer.

Step 4. Transfer iPad notes to PC
After you set output directory, click the "Transfer Now" button to start to transfer podcasts from iPad to computer without iTunes immediately. You then only need to wait for the tranfer to complete.

How to add Songs on iPhone without a PC & iTunes

One of the few things that disappoint me about the iPad is that Apple's flagship tablet is still, to some extent, dependent on a nearby computer and an open window of iTunes or WinSCP. Bridge is a Cydia app which makes importing files to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch without a computer an easier affair. While there are many apps and tweaks that can get content on your phone, Bridge has a special feature which makes it worth the $1.99 asking price.

write_tip-hql2gv2tuv2zjq1r1lcbzgym-5-0.png

We've already covered a number of methods to download programs to an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch without using iTunes. Some of the free methods include OpenSSH (for secure wireless file transfers from a computer), iTransmission 2 (for torrents), and Safari Download Enabler (for downloading links and video files from the web). The problem is that while these apps and tweaks are more than capable of loading music on to your phone, they don't add the files to the Music app. This means you can't make playlists with the songs you've just loaded onto your phone.
That's where Bridge comes in. With Bridge, you can locate the files you've downloaded to your device and properly import them into your library. You can use this to load Songs, Ringtones, and Podcasts for audio files, set album artwork from your photo roll, and also import movies.

write_tip-hql2gv2tuv2zjq1r1lcbzgym-5-1.png

Applying album art to an imported song in Bridge
The only downside is the music won't be transferred back to your computer by syncing through iTunes. That's not a limitation of the app, but a limitation in iTunes. It wasn't built to transfer user-loaded music to your computer from an iPod. If you ever need to import music to your computer, you can use SSH to copy the music over. The files should be stored in 'var/mobile/media/music'.
Bridge can be found in the BigBoss repository on Cydia. Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

How can I delete old podcasts from my Nano?

You will need to plug you nano into your computer and open iTunes. Once iTunes has recognized your iPod, click on the iPods name. There should be a page with a picture of your iPod, at the top of that page there will be a tab labeled "Podcasts," click on it. On that page there will be a check box with a drop-down menu, this is where we will change your podcast settings. The drop-down menu controls which podcasts are synced to you iPod:
All - This will sync all of your podcasts whether played or unplayed 1,3,5,10 most recent - this syncs only the (x) most recently added podcasts to your iPod All unplayed - if you have not played the podcast yet iTunes will sync them to your iPod 1,3,5,10 most recent unplayed - syncs the (x) most recently added unplayed podcasts to your iPod 1,3,5,10 least recent unplayed - syncs the (x) oldest unplayed podcasts to your iPod all new - syncs all of the newest podcasts 1,3,5,10 most recent new - syncs the (x) most recent new podcasts 1,3,5,10 least recent new - syncs the (x) least recent new podcast
those last two are a bit confusing, basically if you add a lot of podcasts you can either get the (x) newest of that set or the (x) least newest (hope that makes sense).
The second drop-down menu controls whether those setting apply to every podcast, or only the ones that you select in the menu underneath that.jsimpsonjr_0.png

Downloading podcasts

On your computer, you can set your podcasts to sync to your Zune automatically or one at a time by dragging them to the device icon.
SET PODCAST SYNC OPTIONS
  1. In the Zune software, click the device icon, then click Settings, Podcasts.
  2. Choose your podcast sync settings.
What and how you want to sync is completely up to you. You can choose to:
  • Sync all downloaded episodes.
  • Sync all unplayed or partially played episodes.
  • Sync only the first unplayed episode. This setting saves a lot of space—only one episode lives on your Zune at any time.
  • Don't sync any episodes.

You have to use the proprietary Zune software to sync podcasts - the instructions are vague, so I would go to the Zune support forum to get further instructions on this:

How to transfer iPod music to a new computer

You've got a new computer. All your music and videos are on your iPod and you'd like to populate you new iTunes library from it. Unfortunately iTunes doesn't let you transfer anything other than your iTunes store purchases from your iPod.

To transfer all your iPod content, all your music, playlists, videos, podcasts and photos to your new iTunes library you will need to download software like TouchCopy.

Here is how to use TouchCopy

1. Download and Install TouchCopy. Downloads are free and are available for both PC and Mac.
2. Start up TouchCopy by double-clicking the TouchCopy icon on your desktop.
3. If the welcome window appears click past it until you get to a window asking to connect your iPod.
4. Connect your iPod or iPhone to your computer.
TouchCopy may start iTunes - don't worry, TouchCopy has fixed it so that iTunes will not sync music or video with your iPod while TouchCopy is running. These changes are restored when you quit TouchCopy.

Copying Music into iTunes
itunes_over.pngYou can now select which songs you want to copy into iTunes, if you want to select all your music, select "Music" from the list on the left and click on "Copy to iTunes" button in the TouchCopy control bar.

In a similar way, you can also use TouchCopy to copy your playlists, videos, podcasts, photos, contacts, calendars, notes and iPhone SMS.

When you are satisfied that all your iPod content is safely in iTunes, use iTunes to re-sync your iPod which will enable you to add new content to it.

Are you downloading podcast videos or audio files?

Also, do you have your iPod to sync manually or automatically? Change it to manually if it is auto, then you can put the podcasts from your library onto your podcast folder on the ipod in iTunes.
