I purchased a Hybrid GP germicidal Air Purifier, Model # S1724 ((Electric Air Cleaner AC110v 20w 50/60Hz)). My unit is severly malfunctioning and i nee to either send it in for repair or be given detailed instructions on how to troubleshoot and fix my unit. Current Problem:My Hybrid GP Air Purifier is turning itself Off. After the unit has been properly and throughly cleaned the unit continues to Notify by flashing light saying ""Attention Required"". This Unit is Less Than 2 years old! My Child Reqires this Air Purifier in order to Breathe Better at night.

Locate the photo electric eye that picks up the need to clean and give it a thorought cleaning. Good Luck and I hope you get it repaired. That photo cell should be your problem It's probably a little black or ruby red dot in a fin or on the housing where yhe air passes.

1 thinks its wet , 1 sparks and snaps.

I took the blades and a washrag in the shower with me and cleaned them. Then I put them in front of the air vent for 8-10 hours. Then I put them back in the unit. Sparking and snapping could be from dirt moving through the unit.

TRYING TO FIND REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR A SHARPER IMAGE HYBRID GP GERMICIDAL AIR PURIFIER MODEL SI724 NEED THE WIRES AND BEADS TO REPLACE SOME BROKEN ONES

I have 2 of these air purifiers and I love them. I came to this site looking for a resolution because 1 of them stopped working properly. After running for about 30 seconds, the red light would come on. I had cut out 1 wire that was broken and thought that was the problem. There were sparks when it was turned on. After reading a couple answers here, I took a closer look and noticed that a second wire was also broken at the bottom. I just cut the second broken wire off the top and removed it and the purifier works great now. No more sparks!

I bought the hybrid S1724 but the filter was missing. Where can I get a filter?

Ebay??Amazon??They can be upwards of $70-$100,but keep a lookout and you'll find a Deal..Good Luck!

Both Ionic Breeze purifier and replacement parts had been retired from the market because of health concerns related to ionic technology. Parts are sometimes available on ebay, but I suggest not carrying any repair on this unit.

I have a Sharper Image GP Hybrid model 1724. I cleaned the pull out blades and the inside of the unit. When I turn it on, the needs attention light comes on almost immediately. How can I get the machine...

i found a solution to the sparking problem in the ionic breeze. purchased scotch brite cleaning pads from home depot. using a long strip of pad scrub the plates back and forth especially in the areas that seem to be emitting sparks. i did this and the unit runs quiet as a whisper.

I need to replace the bulb for ionic breeze air purifier S1830

G15T8 15W 15 Watt UV Germicidal Bulb IONIC BREEZE GP
this bulb is available on ebay for under $11.00. The release tab for the cover is at the bottom of the cover and it comes off pretty easy. Once the cover is off you turn the lamp 1/4 turn (two clicks) and slide it from it's fixture.

Ionic Breeze Hybrid GP air purifier only 1/2 grid gets dirty.

I have been doing research on this unit. I read that only every other grill is suppose to collect. The remaining grills increase the electrostatic charge making the collection plates, the ones that get dirty more effective. So the bottom line is there is nothing wrong with your unit.

I cleaned my air cleaner and now it will not turn back on

When you cleaned your cleaner, you must be gentle with it. Wipe down with a lightly moist cloth or paper towel. make sure you dont shove any grime between the metal cleaning grid and the plastic holding it all together. that can cause lots of problems. Your air purifier probably wont start because of an auto shut off safety feature. Be sure that everything is in its proper place.... make sure hte front grill is fastened on correctly as well as the back grill. if those are not secured properly the unit will not start. also, check that your collection grid is placed all the way inside the unit and wait for the click noise that indicates that its locked in place. at that point the unit should turn on and you can once again enjoy fresh, pure air!

Oh there are a lot of known issues! I used to work for sharper image and I believed in this items very much so until mine broke. However after a year I figured out how to fix it. Take the big square collection grid out and the back screen off. Now get you a thick rag and be very careful because there are several tiny wires going up and down. Smaller than dental floss, you need to be very careful because you can either brake them or slice your finger wide open( Under any circumstances I can not be held liable for the information I am giving you try this at your own risk). Now with the towel very gently go up and down each wire like you are polishing a brass pole(once again these wires are thin and can break or cut you). Do this from the back side of the unit and from the inside where the collection grid that you took out sits. Take your time and be thorough, and presto your 400 dollar air cleaner is working again.
