If the picture is good and the sound is muffled, try running a VCR head cleaning tape through the machine, This will clean any build up from the magnetic tape used in VCR tapes and should be ran on a regular basis. If this don't fix the problem, try using a long Q-tip with denatured alcohol on it to clean the tape heads, these are easy to see once you lift the tape door, clean everything the tape comes in contact with, you can use isopropol alcohol if that is all you have but be sure to let the unit dry before plugging it back in to avoid a fire. I hope this helps, Good Luck.
its not that, it just cuts out when the sound gets quiet, the matsui thinks the small amount of sound is 'interference' so blocks it out, however if a film gets quiet it blocks it out, which is ridiculously stupid, i have no idea how to sort it out either
No, to make this connection correctly you need a pre amp. you can find them online for about 25 and up. your ipod does not have a pre amp section and is sending a very weak signal to your amplifier. A pre amp is the fix. Hope this helps
If these speakers are two or three way speakers, it is possible that the tweeter(s) are blown in them.
Try and remove cover to check.
If the sound is not distorting, but just flat and muddy its the tweeters.
Put the other ones on this channel, to make sure it is not the amp.
Your audio processor might be going bad or at least one of the capacitors might had malfunctioned. We are actually not talking about much expense in fixing this problem. At my shop here how the pricing would go:
Parts: $20.00-$30.00 Labor: $60.00 per hour (1 hour limit) Total $120.00 Starter Fee: $30.00
So total will be about $170.00 - $180.00
This is just an estimate based on my shop, your local shop might charge more or less.
