Question about Denon DCM-270 5-Disc CD Changer
I have a Denon DCM-270 cd changer that is not reading the discs. I took the top off and the cd goes in and spins (rather slowly) one direction then in the other direction. Any ideas why it will not read the disc?
The motor under the cd could be spinning too slow or a dirty or faulty laser

Probably drive belt that rotates the carosel inside is not lining up properly,or the belt that moves the laser mech into position, sounds like its just not lining up properly

Hi there, this lens may be dirty or it may have a thin layer of heat film that is causing it to not read in a consistent manner. i would try to clean the lens with a good CD lens cleaner. if the cleansing doesn't restore the lens to its original reading state, this will confirm lens assembly failure and you will need to replace this assembly.

I would replace the audio cable from the CD player to the Denon amp, a long shot, if you have other devices hooked to the amp and plays fine, the problem will be in the CD player. However! if all sound sources have the same problem, the issue is with the Denon unit.
