Eject the tape on Hitachi VT-FX695. It stays on for about 45 seconds and will not eject and then powers off.

The tape is in the unit. The unit powers on and will not eject the tape. The VCR powers down after about 45 seconds automatically. Any ideas how to eject the tape manually?

Hi,
the door mechanism is may be gripped because of a small kick...
did you try to open the door with a full charged battery and with the wall plug connected too ? help it with a toothpick or the corner of a credit card...
if this doesn't work, it may be the motor that is dead, do you ear any little noise when asking the ejection ? if yes, it is the mechanic, if not, it is the motor or the motor driver that is dead.
cheers,
mich

Unit will not stay on. Turn power on unit with no tape. After several seconds cycles off. I am using the aux. to monitor a cctv camera.

VCR's with faulty mechanisms will power down to prevent tape damage. Checking inside might reveal damage to the tape mechanism. Even if the mechanism isn't damaged the VCR has a device called the mode switch. These tell the electronics what position the mechanism is in. If that goes faulty the electronics can think that mechanism is in say playback mode, even when it's in eject mode. So when it detects no tape tries to stop and eject the tape. Since it can't carry out this it shuts the entire video down to be on the safe side and prevent further damage.

Tape loaded normally but now won't eject. The unit just powers off after a few seconds.

Unplug the power from the combo unit and give it 30 seconds, now plug back in, sometimes this will eject the tape, if not! take the top off the machine and check to see if the tape is spewed in the mechanical section and around the video head, if yes! get a pair of scissors and cut the tape carefully to avoid damaging the video head and remove all tape deb-ri, now power up and eject the main cassette. But! if you find the cassette has loaded in place and the tape is still in the vhs cassette, this would indicate a loading problem with the main carriage, broken belt, bad idler assembly and possibly sensor issues.

I put a vhs tape in an the vcr turns off by it self a green light keeps flashing by where it says cst in. I have a Hitachi DVD/VCR COMBO DV-PF2U. I also can not get the tape out

Unplug the power supply for thirty seconds and plug back in, this will reset the processor and might eject the tape. If this fails the next step is remove the top of the combo unit this will give access to the vcr tape, if the tape is spewed in the machine and wrapped around the video head and other mechanical parts use scissors to cut the tape and carefully removing the particles, press power to eject the tape for normal operation. However! if the vcr tape is okay, there may be a loading problem, broken drive belt, bad idler assembly to name a few, this is where a technician will be needed but may not justify cost.

How do i get my cd out from my LG LFD850 everytime i press eject it says it's locked

ok what you should do is 1. turn off the unit.
2.Unplug the unit from the power source and disconnect all other input cable connections if possible.
3. then press and hold the power on/off button for 45 seconds. (this should discharge all electricity inside the unit allowing it to reset itself.)
4. after the 45 seconds have passed, proceed to plug back in all of the connections, then the power cable.
5. turn the unit on and hold the eject button for 30 seconds.
Now depending on when your unit was produced instead of holding the eject button for 30 seconds you may need to hold the stop button for 30 seconds and it should be fixed
what this should have done is reset the unit and reset the cd drive allowing your disk to be ejected.
.

System will not eject video tape and is locked

This unit is confused. The timing may be messed up. Try unplugging the unit for 1/2 hour. This will force a system reset and make the unit go through a complete startup check/reset. This may clear it up. If not, hopefully the symptoms will change slightly. Please post the results of the "reset".

Thanks,
Dan

HITACHI vcr DOES NOT LOAD TAPE

It's more than likely a slipping belt in the tape mechanism

If you are technically inclined it can be fixed for around $3.00

If you are not then it would be advisable to buy a new VCR because the repair cost would be more than the cost of a new one .

Will not load tape

Hello yellowwestie,

You may have a bad tape position sensor assembly (LED and photo transistor). It's purpose is to detect where the tape is in the loading process, and if the tape is not in the proper place at the proper time the tape is returned to the cassette and the cassette is ejected. This sounds like what you are talking about. I would suggest getting a schematic and checking the bias voltages (with a multimeter) on the tape position sensor assembly. If the sensor is bad replace it, if it is not check the tape sensor assembly circuitry.

I hope this helps

Thank you,

What do I do when my Emerson TV keeps turning off by itself?

I had the same problem with mine turning off after 3-5 seconds. After much research I found a suggestion that on some combo units the vcr part could have a power supply cutout if it is not working correctly. I tried to insert a tape and found that the tape mechanism would not accept a tape. I used a little bit of force and managed to insert a tape. I then played the tape forwards and backwards and the power stayed on! I ejected the tape and found the TV then worked just fine. The power has now been on for over one hour. I hope this give you another avenue to try and fix your problem.
