You don't give make or model so.....generally; all you do is insert the document to be fax'ed into the feeder on top (normally) dial the number of the other(rxing) fax machine, then press the START button...the pageswill be scanned and sent to the other machine, Petty simple.
Are there error messages on the display or do you want to print something that has been sent? If your fax machine needs toner/drum unit, then that will need to be replaced first. If you are looking for a document that was faxed to someone, you will need to call them and have same document faxed back to you....fax machines have memory for incoming faxes, but not for things that are "sent".
If you can copy the document, then you can send it BUT the receiving fax will probably have restricted length fax pages to prevent jammed documents at the sending end causing the receiver to use all the paper. If you have access to a service manual you can restrict the length of faxes sent and received on your machine. But it may be the receiver with the restriction.
If you sending the fax over the memory, fax can scann doc. while dialing, or in the same time, but if you sending directly (on-hook dial) fax is sending the document while beeing reeded.
You may try to check the phone lines, browse the documents before sending, clean the original document feed rollers,...
if fax sudenly stops and wrinkle the orig. documents there is problem in scanner area
Your product must be accidently set to copy mode instead of fax mode and when it is, it actually expects a document to be loaded in the tray to "scan/copy" so change to fax mode again and try to sent the document. This should fix your problem.
If you do want to make a copy, make sure a doc. is loaded and press start copy to do so.
Lift to open the document cover and use a soft cloth to clean the glass were documents are scanned. Also clean the white plate on the upper side of the scanner. You identify the scanner by observing the direction documents faces while faxing. The scanner reads the document.
