Try resetting the phone once and see if it solves your problem.
This feature resets the phone settings back to the factory defaults.
From Idle mode, touch Menu > Settings> Phone > Reset phone.
At the All settings reset to factory defaults. Continue? prompt, touch Yes to reset, or No to cancel. Once your phone has been reset to its default settings for those selected options, it will restart itself in order to incorporate the new settings.
Go to your menu and select "Setting". In the setting environment, press select, this will take you to Tone Settings- Display Settings-Profile-Time Settings-Call Settings. Then select "Call Settings", this will give you 6 options beginning at "Call Forwarding-Automatic redial-call waiting-Send my caller ID-Line for outgoing calls-No screening". Select "Send My Call ID".Default - Yes - No will be the available options. Choose "No". Return thereafter to my your call. All calls will not display your mobile phone number to the recipient. In order to display your number in subequent calls, repeat the whole process and select "Yes" to display your mobile number. Take care.
you will not be able to view a Changelog within the phone showing what updates to the software have been made, but you will be able to see your Firmware Version which wil show what build you have updated to, from there you will be able to find changelogs on the internet !
To view your Firmware version goto your Main home Screen, Press the MENU button,press the SETTINGS tab, Scroll to the bottom and press the ABOUT PHONE button, from here you will be able to view all of the androids firmware information, with the Update being part of the Build number.
RC19 is the standard out of the box version for pre-ordered G1s,There are currently 2 updates for the android Software, RC28 was issued on the phones release date to fix issues with the IM program among other things, but that update was stopped due to there being security errors within the internet browser which could allow for keyloggers, Google has since the 27th october released RC29 which fixes all of the previous RC28 issues and also sorts out the security errors.
Too see which build your phone is goto the bottom of the About phone tab where there is a Build number. this build number should say something like : kila-user 1.0TC4-RC19 109652 ota-rel-keys, release-keys (example).
The bold number i have highlighted within that build number shows which update version you are currently using !
