MY REAR PROJECTION LCD (SONY GRAND WEGA, KDF50WE655) TURNS ON WITHOUT OK BUT WILL GO BLACK AFTER A MINUTE AND STAY BLACK FOR A COUPLE MINUTES BEFORE COMING BACK ON. THE TV WILL THEN REPEAT THIS ON/OFF CYCLE. THIS HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF THE INPUT USED (IE CABLE, DVD, ANT, ETC). ANY THOUGHTS ON WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS?
Bulb is dirty remove and clean if it persists replace bulb.

I replaced the lamp and all is good again. I'm not sure why the TV did the cycle on/off thing but I tried cleaning the existing lamp with no luck but a new lamp did the trick. Also, it is easy (and cheaper) to just replace the bulb rather than the whole lamp ($90 vs $200).
TV will black out for 30 seconds with no sound then will show the picture with no sound for 5 seconds and then the picture will appear for 1 minute and then repeat the whole problem again
