How do i force my tv remote to increase and decrease the volume on my symphonic b19-wm crt television

I have tried the following: holding down the power button. the sleep button, the menu button, the channel return, the display button all work. The +100 button doesn't seem to work. My tv is not hooked to a converter box satellite or cable, just an antenna. My volume is like on permanent mute. The remote control or the tv won't work the volume up or down buttons.

Do a reset to this set, and check. There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight; will be better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. I have had a problem like what you stated.

I turned TV off. Then unplugged the TV, for 5 mins.
Then plugged the TV back in the power outlet.

Also try the menu button on the TV itself, NOT the remote.

Scroll thru the menu button, with alt volumn & channel buttons
make changes.

when picture is displayed on your tv after pressing menu,press the channel up/down button on the remote or tv. there can also be a button that shifts right to left. this may hilight the the settings you want to change. if the up/down button scrolled you thru the settings, then the right/left buttons should change the settings.

SOURCE: Philips PC7225 hotel TV - can't access the menu to reprogram it.

0621 is the code- I used 2 different universal remotes(one for menu and one for scrolling) and solved my problem- when I got to cable, I selected no and was able to use all the originally unprogrammed channels

The cause of the problem is that the switch of your tv is dirty when cleaning it you must be familiar to the unit and the parts you will remove to prevent any damage you can use a contact cleaner, when applying a contact cleaner you must only spray it to the switch. Remote control will not decrease volume. it will increase volume though. Sanyo HT27546 TV

Check to see if it will decrease on the TV itself,install fresh batteries, mash the down button on the remote applying a little pressure, button may be stuck. hope this helps..

Volume decreasing to zero by itself

Have you looked to see if the Button on the tv itself is stuck in. Press it and you might be able to feel for it sticking. If this is the case you may want to try a baby wipe or something similar to try and sort this out. (dont use a sopping wet cloth)

yes direct into the buttons the WD40 is the best thing i've ever seen, that will not damage anything you can spray it without fear and then try to activate the buttons a few times, of course with the tv off.

Toshiba TV 2151TB Tuning
Press remote button adjacent to the picture brightness button.
The symbol of a clock appears.
Press the button again and the >>> symbol appears, this is for course tuning.
Touch the Increase Volume button and auto tuning starts.
When a station is found two green underlines appear.
Type the station number i.e.for 2 type 02, this stores the station.
Touch the Increase volume button again to find the nexr station.
Upto 39 stations can be stored.
Fine tuning of any station is achieved by pressing the tuning button until three blocks sysbol is displayed.
Use the Increase/Decrease Volume buttos to fine tune the station.

Hope this helps!
Most universal remotes also have a search mode. They work like this. Most want the TV turned off. Than press the button (TV) than press & hold the set button till the led comes on. Point the remote at the TV than press the volume + to increase. This will take you through the codes one digit at a time. Each time you press the + the remote moves up to the next code. This may take several minutest. Once the TV turns on press the set button again & the led will go out. That's it.

Whats the tv remote code if i have a direct tv + remote.

The Directv remote isn't capable of fully emulating the native remote of the Symphonic Combo. You can get limited functionality though.

1. Move Remote slider to "AV1" position.
2. Hold down mute and select until you get 2 flashes of the green light, then release both keys.
3. Enter 20821 and observe 2 more flashes of the green light.

Next lock the volume controls to this device.

4. If you have moved the remote's slider from the AV1 position, move it back. The slider should remain on AV1.
5. Hold down mute and select until you get 2 flashes then release both keys.
6. Enter 993 and observe 2 flashes.
7. Press and release THE SELECT KEY and observe 2 more flashes.

You can control the TV's power using the big power button under the device selector.
