How do i change message alert on samsung m8800

Settings > Phone Profiles > Normal > New Message > Melody Alert Tone

you can get sounds or other files uploaded as SMS tone, go:

• Main menu -> Settings -> Phone Profiles -> Normal
• then scroll down the top right arrow and select new messages
• Then Message alert tone, and then select the right bottom Sounds and then select your uploaded sms tone and press add, that's it.

Hi I'm afraid that on earlier Samsung models it was not possible to change the alert tone for sms messaging. You usually only got 10 preset alerts. Ringtones was ok to change only if in right format recognised by handset.

For the Samsung corby pro, go to settings from the main menu. open the phone profiles, select the normal profile, then access the uppermost drop down box (which should say incoming call by default) select the new messages option, scroll down to the message alert tone and viola.
you can choose from the default tones or even or even upload one of your own by clicking the sound button.

u need gprs setting to use web browser. ask your service provider for the setting.

Go to Menu > Settings > Phone profiles > click the two arrows beside Normal (or whichever one you use) > go to the top of the screen and select New Messages > Choose Message Alert Tone > Sounds > choose the file.

carphone warehouse are the national repair centre for samsung they should be able to fix it, i think the cost is around £50
