SOURCE: washer make a clicking noise

Zoobs, you could have something stuck under the agitator. The agitator will pull straight off. Grip it on each side and pull up hard, but don't hit yourself in the face. If that don't work, try slipping a belt under it and pull. Check for something caught under it. Another possibility could be the nylon suspension rod socket supports in the back. They will make a noise during agitation if they are dry. Put a little 3 in 1 oil to quite them down. Take the front panel off and check the pulley and belt, see if anything is out of whack. I also often find the motor support hitting the bottom panel during agitation making noise. Take the front panel off and observe during agitation. See if the support is striking the bottom. If so, just bend the bottom panel down. Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: Washing machine making whining noise during spin only

Yes, bearing, most definitely. It is a cheap part but difficult to replace.

Hi i have a SIMPSON ESPRIT 600 TOP LOADER WASHING MACHINE. The wash cycle works fine however during the drain and spin cycle, the water wont drain. The machine makes a noise during the drain cycle but...

My guess would be replace the pump, it is normally driven by the motor and if the wash cycle is good the motor is operational. You have to investigate to find the actual part to replace.

Machine makes awful noise during any movement, spins very slowly, not enough to spin out. Making an awful noise, like stripped gears and won't drain

There are three reasons for such awful noise during spinning. Either the drum or the bearing turning the drum. Check for drum bearing failure if your washing machine is noisy on the spin cycle. Drum bearing failure is common when the bearing seals start allowing water to enter. You can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand, and if the drum rumbles, replace the bearings.

Thanks

We have Fuzzy logic and the smell s unbearable. We

The smell is residual soap and grease left behind in the machine because the wash temperature used is not high enough to kill it off also the detergent has been sanitized to a point where it also dislodges the grease but does not fully emulsify it

Go and buy one or two large boxes of common washing soda mix them in a bucket of very hot water.

Pour this mix into the tub before you start the machine , fill the machine using a high level very hot program and do a wash without any clothes in the machine.

You may have to do this twice.

Change your soap powder to one of the older type brands which contains bleach and soda (Daz, Omo ??).

When the machine has finished its work leave the lid open for an hour or so to allow air circulation to dry out the drum inside

Very loud noise during initial fill cycle only

Try it in different temp settings and see if it makes noise in both hot and cold. It probably does it in hot or warm only which would explain why it doesn't do it during the cold fill for rinse. You probably need a fill valve but listen carefully and make sure noise isn't caused by the pipes coming to the machine. If it is 5 yrs old go ahead and replace supply hoses also, this is standard maintainance at that age.

GE Model WHDSR209D2WW makes unbearable loud metal Screeching noise

ppr78, couple of things you want to check. The bottom panel on these GE's are pretty flimsy. I have run into a couple where during agitation the bottom of the motor housing would rub against the bottom panel making a terrible noise. You need to remove the front panel by pusing on the clips on the left and right side just under the top. The front panel will pull out. During agitation, take your foot and push down on the bottom panel and see if the screech goes away. I have also found the suspension rod support sockets at the top dry out and make a screeching noise. You also want to check your belt and pully and see if the noise is from there. Check these things first...Catriver..post back.
