Question about Stihl Ts 410 420 Cut Off Saw Decompression Grommet
Not sure what a cooking device has to do with a cut-off saw, but your piston and CYLINDER are probably spent. The oil in 2-cycle mixed gas lubricates the cylinder and any rotating or sliding surfaces that are metal to metal contact. If there is no lubrication, the heat created by the friction will cause a transfer on the aluminum piston material to the hard chrome plating of the cylinder, an occur acne known as galling. When this happens, your only option is to go on eBay and find a Chinese replacement, install it, and don't make the same mistake again. A new piston and cylinder assembly from STIHL will cost a large fraction on the saw, whereas an aftermarket kit will probably be about $100 or less and still perform. Btw, before you knock Chinese parts, don't forget that STIHL themselves have a plant in china as well as India.
