Horizontal rolling and picture freeze

Our Samsung hl-r6167w picture began to roll on occasion. Eventually it rolled more and more and then started to freeze for a few seconds.
Yesterday, it would not turn on at all. The "lamp" light is lit (but not the others) in the front, there is "crackling" around the lamp when the power is turned on, and the TV continually tries to boot up, but keeps shutting down.
Does the crackling around the bulb indicate the bulb is no good? or could the bulb not be turning on due to something else?
BTW - it isn't the satellite service as I changed that last week and it didn't fix anything.
Thank you in advance.

This TV needs a service adjustment done. Looks like a vertical or horizontal IC is failing. I'd go ahead, and shut off until services adjustment is made. Have you unplugged for a few minutes and plugged back in? However, I'd have a service tech look at it.

PROBLEMS WITH VERTICAL ROLL

That is not a vertical roll from side to side, this is a horizontal rolling. if the vertical had a roll it would be going from top to bottom. This is most likely a coupling between the horizontal sync circuit and the sync separator circuit. Good Luck
