Hello, I am needing your help please. I have a friend who has asked for my help, but I am unable. He has a Loewe TV mid 1980's. Since he re-tuned it for digital, Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, a few weeks ago, the screen is too small for the picture. The TV is connected to a set top box. Can you advise how the picture can be adjusted to fit the screen please ? Then I can help my friend. Thanking you in advance, Christine.
I'm not failure with that exact model but it has to do with cable box not the tv. Well it could also be the tv but start at the box first. make sure it's set to not be expanded it should be set to normal picture size and formatted to match the shape of the screen 4:3 or 16:9 and select the highest output like 1080Ip or the lesser 780p the settings will be located in the cable boxes preferences and settings controls. after looking for these settings you will be able to figure out the screen sizes and formats. Then check the tv's menue and make sure it's set to the highest input selection with the screen size setting as normal & not expanded or zoomed.

Yes if you could give me a model #, it is probably a diode shorted in pincushion area, or a capacitor.

Hi there,
You may have already done this, but check to see if you can change the screen size in the set-top-box settings and set this to widescreen 16:9 to match the tv. You may also have 14:9 as an option too. Also, check your video output settings, this can be changed between RGB, Composite, PAL or NTSC.
Let me know if that does or doesn't solve the problem
Tim
