Hello, I am needing your help please. I have a friend who has asked for my help, but I am unable. He has a Loewe TV mid 1980's. Since he re-tuned it for digital, Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, a few weeks ago, the screen is too small for the picture. The TV is connected to a set top box. Can you advise how the picture can be adjusted to fit the screen please ? Then I can help my friend. Thanking you in advance, Christine.

I'm not failure with that exact model but it has to do with cable box not the tv. Well it could also be the tv but start at the box first. make sure it's set to not be expanded it should be set to normal picture size and formatted to match the shape of the screen 4:3 or 16:9 and select the highest output like 1080Ip or the lesser 780p the settings will be located in the cable boxes preferences and settings controls. after looking for these settings you will be able to figure out the screen sizes and formats. Then check the tv's menue and make sure it's set to the highest input selection with the screen size setting as normal & not expanded or zoomed.

Yes if you could give me a model #, it is probably a diode shorted in pincushion area, or a capacitor.

SOURCE: Screen Resolution Problems with Samsung 50" DLP

Hi there,

You may have already done this, but check to see if you can change the screen size in the set-top-box settings and set this to widescreen 16:9 to match the tv. You may also have 14:9 as an option too. Also, check your video output settings, this can be changed between RGB, Composite, PAL or NTSC.

Let me know if that does or doesn't solve the problem

Tim

Loewe TV bought in 2002 ... switching itself off, then on, every 30 seconds ... screen stays dark, no sound

Hello

The problem either the on/off button is faulty or a heat sink not doing it's job.

The on/off button simply toggles a low voltage circuit that powers your tv. If it is dusty, it may complete the electrical circuit and send a false signal.

A heat sink may be dusty and unable to dissipate heat. Overtemp protection may be switching the TV off.

what you should do is to get a can of compressed air, open the back of your tv and clean the dust off the circuit boards.

I need someone to come to my house in north london to fix my loewe acconda tv which will not come on - changed fuse in plug.

In that case you need to contact a repair engineer for your appliance who makes home visits. If you still have a manufacturer's warranty then you may wish to contact Loewe directly: you also have UK Sale Of Goods Act protection for up to six years as goods must be or durable quality considering the intended use and price paid. Sale of Goods Act obligations are the retailer's responsibility.

FixYa is a free supplementary online resource: we're unpaid volunteers and are not representatives of any manufacturer and are certainly unable to make home visits.

Sorry that this is not what you wanted but it's the only correct answer.

No signal!

Hi Rabia,

It seems as if the Picture-in-Picture feature of your television is activated. Please take a look at the remote control and find the PIP button and press it, this should bring the picture into full-screen and allow you to hear the audio.

Programming panasonic vcr

First, check in the VCR setup and see if it set for cable or off-air/broadcast/antenna (not always named the same).  If it is set for off-air... then it won't tune cable channels beyond 13.  It must be set for cable mode in order to tune those upper channels (mid-band, superband etc.).

I assume you have the VCR hooked up correctly- cable into VCR antenna/RF input, VCR RF/to TV output to the RF/Ant input of the TV.
