Typically there will be a single line of Coax (TV Cable) running from your dish to your receiver. There will be a connection on the back of your receiver with a little picture of a dish. It might also be labeled LNBF or LNB. Make sure the power to your receiver is unplugged before connecting it. If you have more than one cable coming from the dish, or I've misunderstood, you may need to provide more information such as what cables, and what model of reciever.

SOURCE: Dish Network - Dish 500 Satellite 110 is not being recognized

Lonnie, You have a simple problem, the 119 satellite is lower in the sky than the 119 if you make sure the pole you are mounted on is straight and plum ,then simply raise the dish a few elevation degrees and turn the dish to the left.Your dish is aimed low and to the right.

You will need a DP or Legacy twin or quad, or DPP twin without using an external switch. If you use Legacy Duals, or DP Duals you will need a switch. USUALLY a SW21 is used to combine the signals but you may have a different one in use if at all.

The primary thing to remember when using a switch is that you must use the same type of LNB as switch e.g. Legacy switches with Legacy LNB's and Dish Pro switches with Dish Pro LNB's.

Check your LNB type. Legacy LNB's have only a Dish Network Logo on them, Dish Pro has DP on them and DPP have DP PLUS on them.

One of three things could be the cause:

1. Line of site. Must be clear of all obstructions to ensure adequate signal.

2. You have a faulty switch, or conflicting LNB and switch, or no switch at all.

3 you may have a bad port on the LNB.

As a fail safe check that your mount is level and plumb. You also may have the dish pointed directly at 119. Check the Skew and elevation settings as well. If LOS IS THE ISSUE YOU MAY NEED TO RELOCATE THE DISH OR REMOVE THE OBSTRUCTION.

In some extreme cases microwave towers and High Voltage lines also pose a problem but doubt this is the case for you.

SOURCE: combining output from dish home distribution with ota antenna

You should have your system setup in the following manner below:

You also will only be able to receive the HD locals with a HD OTA antenna. It is possible that you will need to turn the satellite off in this room to view the OTA's effectively.

Also you should use a splitter as depicted in the picture by the red boxes to combine signals of this frequency. The blue box is the diplexer on the incoming satellite feed and the black box is the seperator that most dual tuners use. If yours does not utilize this device you will have another cable coming from the outside of the house to the back of the receiver. The location of the ports on the back of the receiver in my diagram may differ in position on your receiver so obviously connect them to the proper port. I hope this ressolves the issue and there is no need to seperaate the signal at the remote tv as it will only be a duplicate of the same signal you have connected already as OTA and the TV2 backfeed are of the same frequency range.

SOURCE: Dish Network "Blue" Smart Card upgrade... Now get only "015"

The solution is usually a simple one and that has been suggested already but I will ask you to try one thing first. Remove the new smartcard and do not put one in. If the receiver still displays a picture and yoou can get to menu 611 run a check switch. After this is performed cancel out of the screens and re insert the new smartcard. Once the system comes back up perform the same steps as you did before with the smart card removed. If this fails you can try the solution they offered which was to update the sofware. There is no reason your software should be outdated if you were using this receiver before the new smartcard but try anyway as it may SOMEHOW work. Using the remote turn the receiver itself off. Allow the receiver sometime to turn itself back on-this could take awhile so plan this when you leave for work or are going to be gone from the house for sometime so you do not get bored waiting for this to occur. If the receiver has not turned back on in 45 minutes or more then the receiver will either need replacing -which i suggest- or they will try to send you a new smartcard if you talk to Cust service. Tell them you want a service call to fix the receiver. While you have them on the phone verify your receiver number and the new smartcard number which is on the back of the card and ask them to send a hit to the receiver. If the receiver has not been associated with the new smartcard or if the smartcard was not loaded with all of your programmming this should fix the issue. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

I have no signal,what can I check?

OK Joan,, I might need more info. not getting signal could be caused from several things.. one make sure the Dish Antenna is mounted correctly, (level, and true, [one degree off on earth is like 700 miles off at the Satellite.]) check you cables and make sure they is now wire touching the center core of the coax. if the coax has splitters, connections etc outside check for the corrosion inside the threads.
make sure the coax coming into the house is connected to the right place on back of the 222k. make sure u are on the right Video stream for the HDMI. are u getting any picture showing the Dish set up or is the screen all Blue.. if it is blue try to use the remote that came with ur TV (RCA, Vizio, Phillips,,,,etc) and look for the input, source , or Antenna button and push it to match your HDMI input..

I have a 625 dual tuner from Dish. When I do a check switch it shows that I have signals on both satellites on tuner 1 but tuner 2 has none. When I disconnect the cables from the receiver and reconnect...

Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service, I will be happy to assist with this. This receiver needs to have a Separator (splitter) that has one coax cable coming from the Satellite into the single side and then two cables out, which connect to the receiver box. The Separator is marked with a SAT1 & SAT2. They will connect up to SAT1 & SAT2 on the receiver box itself. If you are using a different typr splitter, it is probably not rated for the splitting of the Satellite feed. I hope this helps you, if not feel free to contact me.

Unhooked all lines in back of tv cant remember to rehook up have2

granmabj,

There are common connections to each receiver but there are unique connections also depending on the receiver. Solo receivers have a coax cable coming from the Dish outside connected to Satellite In. Duo receivers and DVR HD receivers have the coax cable that comes from the dish outside that connects to Satellite 1 and Satellite 2 using a splitter. There is also a cable (coax, RCA (yellow, white, red) or component (green, blue, red - video, white, red - audio) or an HDMI if HD) connected from the receiver to the TV 1. For a duo receiver TV 2 may be backfed on the cable coming from the dish outside using diplexers. This may sound confusing but you can call 1-800-333-3474 for assistance.

Unit is on Dish Network. Timed out during nite. "Locked" message on. Experimenting with remote was usless. No picture. Unit is small flat screen. Gift, no manual.

First, power down the Receiver and remove the card, disconnect your dish networking data cables. ( All )
Power down your TV.
Allow 2 minutes for the dish receiver to set, before powering up.
Next, reconnect all cables to dish Receiver and power on the TV and Receiver.
Next, plug in the card for Receiver.
The unit should cycle and show network accessing satellites.
If you have used this system before, you should know any setup steps or configurations.
Hope this has been of some help and your system now works.
Please rate kindly.

Trying to find out what my tvs settings should be on to hook up m

Have you tried channel 3 or the video input channels.
The Tv only needs the one channel that the signal from the box is sent on.
All the viewing channels will be changed through the satellite box.
