How've do I turn off the red blinking anti-theft light after I've locked up the car completely and can still see it blinking which drains the battery.
The red light drain 0.001amp. from you battery.need 1000 hour to drain 1 amp. test the battery if is any good. do drain test on the car.rust and short will drain battery overnight.after market equipment,light in the trunk or glove box, under hood light etc. disconnect the battery and install amp meter. do the drain test. your computers uses 0.2-0.4amp when sleep.anything over 0.5-.6 amp is bad. after you connect the amp meter give 1min. to turn all systems to sleep mode.Is normal the first minute to be high drain.
ones you know something is wrong disconnect the fuses one at the time and note if any changes. if the fuse you disconnect turn the amps low note what system is connected to the fuse and you will know were is the problem

is the security light still on? a quick test is to remove the negative terminal on the battery for 10 minutes. reconnect and see if car starts without the security light on.
if the light remains on turn the key to ON without starting engine and leave it for 10-15 min until light goes out and then start the car, it should then stay running when you open the door.
the late 90's into 2000's GMs have issues with their security systems acting up, unfortunately your car is one of the ones it affects.there is no way to disable the system because it is part of the ECM
always unlock driver door first when using the key, there is actually a sensor that the computer reads, if the door is unlocked without a key such as using a slim jim or coat hanger the system will trigger a no start and the light will be on.
