Sounds like its not getting gas fast enough to keep burning, that happen to me and the gas line was to long of a run for enough gas keep coming. so I up the pipe runs real good the flame keeps burning, so you know you can only go 25 ft in half inch pipe then u lose your flame

SOURCE: Heater Burner ignites but main blower motor will not turn on.

it sound like the blower motor may be seizing up. try spining the blade by hand to see if it feels free or not. the motor could be trying to turn but can then tripping itself out on overload. (most motors have built in safety overloads which will trip during an overcurrant event. aka too many amps.) you may have to replace blower motor

SOURCE: The patio heater starts fine

First thing to check is the fuel, if running on butane it will on cold nights slow down, pop and then go out. It will then run again when it's be left for a while. Butane works best on warm nights but for all year use switch to propane, this will work to -6 degrees. For information on fuel see different types of fuel. If that does not not fix it try this help pages patio heater top repair tips.

SOURCE: heater wont stay lite

Needs a service, make sure there is no dust between the thermocouple and the pilot assembly. An air compressor should do it.

The pilot will only stay lit depressed, a few times I was able to keep the pilot on and start the main burner, once it goes on it onlt stays lit for aprox 20 sec

It sounds like you need to replace the thermocouple. It will cause the symptons that you describe. If it is just a flame rod then you may be able to just clean it with steel wool. Let me know what you find.

Short answer, yes. However you could have another problem. Replace the thermocouple that keeps the pilot lit. You can get a universal one at any good hardware or farm store. Make sure the new thermocouple is well into the pilot flame. If the blower knocks out the pilot flame again, I would be suspecting cross contamination from a crack in the heat exchanger. As the exchanger heats up, it may be causing a small crack to open and allows the blower to extinguish the flame. It may also be causing a leak of Carbon Monoxide into the heated room air. I would get it checked out very quickly.

Weatherking furnace is starting and stopping

This just sounds like a couple of problems. First, your blower is designed to only turn on once the heat exchanger heats up, so the flame will be on for a minute or two before the blower starts. it sounds like your blower is cooling down the heat exchanger too fast and causing it to shut off so it can warm up again...check blower speed for heat, it should be the lowest speed (black wire). Blue=medium speed, red= high speed. second problem could be your flame sensor rod is calcified, you just need to locate this and clean it off with some fine sand paper.it is located in the flames near the burners. Also change your filters, for proper air flow through your heat exchanger.

Heater lights fan comes on flame goes out

There is a flame sensor located in the same area as the ignitor (usually on the other end of the burners). remove the flame sensor with the power off. Then use steel wool or light sand paper to clean the silverish end. Reinstall the sensor and ToDA you are done! Best of Luck!

I have a problem with my heating system. It is about 10 years old and has had the ignitor, combustion blower motor, and programable thermostat replace in it's lifetime. The system worked great last year....

sounds like its not proofing flame. it has a sensor usually like a needle sticks out into the flame that tells the gas valve the flame lit and is burning so its ok to keep sending gas, if its fails to proof flame then burner shuts down, then it tries to relight 3 times then locks out on fail safe. the blower will sometimes run continually once that occurs to highlight a failed condition. every time you reset it will try again 3 times then shut down. lp gas is very dangerous, even i do not work on it as the gas acts like gasoline and lays around. not like natural gas that disperses well. if you see the flame sensor try gently cleaning it with a little emory cloth. also a loose ground can cause this. check tio be sure any green wires are snug , they actually flow volts to ground through the flame on some to proof, thats why no ground no flame. if that fails then the board is most likely problem. change wire for wire , or get generic replacemant and follow directions exactly. good luck.some ignitors act as a flamre proofer as soon as they are done igniting! rarely do they fail to perform both funtions.
