Likely a power board issue. Check that capacitors are OK in the power board, and if blown then replace with exact parts. This is a $10 fix, but if it does not work after than then cost go up like replacing the power board completely.

Sounds like you may have a problem with the lighting...If a backlight goes out the volatage will not be correct and the tv may have a sensor which will shut the tv off after a designated time of voltage irregularity. Also might be the t-con board...
