With both the backlight and audio not working. I suspect it's the power supply board.
You'll have to get a TV repair company. Get an estimate before bringing it in, and check reviews on the company.
If you don't know Electronics, don't open it up yourself! There are hazardous voltages even in flat screen TV's!

I was looking for the same information, I found that the (Phillips 22PFL4507/F8, and 22PFL4507/F7) use the same power supply as the emerson, only difference, emerson I could not find a schematic, phillips I scored one..

You will need a circuit diagram to identify the part number, Q601 gives location only on the board, plus what the part does is important.

Since you know electronics that will make the explanation simpler;
On your tv model there is a very common problem that you may want to look at;
There is a small board on the right hand side(backlight inverter board),
Look for a shorted D309 , it is a 9.1volts 1watt zener diode.
As i said it is a common problem for your model.
But there is also the power supply;
All lcd tv`s nowadays it seems end up with bad capacitors in the power supply,
You can recognize them by their rounded tops and you`ll find them at the output of the power supply along the 5/12 and 24volts line.
But especially on the 5 volts line.
If your not sure which ones then replace them all (there might be 6 or 7 of them) it won`t hurt and eventually they will go anyway.

I looked at the manual. YES YOU NEED A CONVERTER. This unit does not have a digital tuner. It is a fairly nice, low-resolution (not high-def) TV with an analog tuner..

The voltage is supplied by the power-supply through the RF/IF interface usually encased in a metal box on its own. Also without knowing the model number of your unit I cant help any further.

Did anyone figure out a solution or did you get rid of the TV?

The most common problem with TV was the failure of the Horizontal Output Transistor, this will also damage 2 transistors in the power supply and a resistor in the power supply also. (From memory): Horizontal Output location # Q501, 2 power supply transistors Locations Q601, Q602, and resistor Location R607. Also solder the Horizontal drive transformer, you can find it by following the circuit board from the base of the Horizontal output. Some models used an IC instead of the 2 transistors in the powersupply, it will have six legs and check like 2 transistors. Good Luck.

Hello, maybe there is a contact error in power supply or the deflection stage. If the resoldering does not help- here are some possible solutions: remedy Replace flyback location LP04. Entered for KV32S22 /SONY (Chassis) remedy 2 Replace IC351, Q602, Q601 (2SC4834M), R607 (1R/0.5W), R622 (10R), IC641 (SI3090CA) and Q502 (2SC5148). remedy 3 Replace tuner. remedy 4 Replace R607, Q502 and IC601.
