How do I disconnect plugins on tcon board

I have the full back off and have removed cover from TCon board Philips 52 inch LCD. We have sound, backlight but no picture. I have small replacement part kit from supplier with nearly a dozen small pieces to replace. Do I really need to unwrap foil and disconnect tape like plugins, or can I just replace parts?

Oh yeah, you can most certainly change the power supply by yourself.

It's easy to locate - just follow the power cable - and easy to replace.

Only make sure to let it discharge before you operate it. 10-15 minutes disconnected from power should do.

However, there's no guarantee that the problem is in the power board.

There is a very good chance it is, in fact, not there.

There's another board which commonly fails on many plasma TVs and the effect is exactly as you describe. It's called Y-Sustain board and you can tell which one it is by looking at the side of your TV and seeing which large board has manny plastic connections that enter the display on the side.

That board often has one or two fuses on it - I'd check those first.

SOURCE: No picture on Philips LCD TV

One very common problem encountered on many Philips models, old and new, In some cases, the SSB board has to be replaced as the resistor on the PCB on the back of the CRT had to be fixed. In other cases the Y Sustain board had to be replaced. If the problem is not due to these two issues, then the capacitors will need to be replaced as they only have a fixed guaranteed life. Thus, it would be wise to take out an extended warranty on Philips due to this common repair issue which often occurs after the limited warranty has ended. Or you could just call your local repairman. There are lots of websites on how to fix it yourself on google. There could be many reasons. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: my philips lcd tv has sound but no picture what is

change the backlight (cold cathode light) on your monitor.. If you are able to open the back of your lcd monitor carefully, the backlights are located at the upper and the lower part of the edge .. replace it with conventional cold cathode lights(protective tube was removed)... there are also instances that backlight was good but the ballast transformer is burnt. Replace the ballast. Its very cheap to replace that.

Are there any blown caps on the PSB-power supply board. Most sets have sammy boards and they used very shotty caps. If there are no visual clues being a poped cap at the top (X) they simply often do vaporize and dry out. The YSUS-Main and the 2 Y buffer boards control the picture OSD-on screen display. Your not getting any of that. So power supply is where you start first. The YBU-upper and the YBL-lower control the upper and lower OSD the Ysus main control both of them. Usually if you have one in the door you have to replace all 3. But not always. If you were to replace any of the boards I would replace the YSUS-Main, or get the board reworked at a pc repair shop that does board level test and repai. Its more cost effective.

Have a Philips 55PFL5601/F7 TV that is flickering. Does this look like a tcon board issue or is it the main board? Or is it the LCD panel hoping it's not. youtu.be/ho5CbxNxG3U

The TCON board or the LCD panel is faulty. Can confirm by replacing the TCON board .

Sony Bravia KDL-60EX500 no longer turns on.

Refer to Sony KDL 55EX500 Troubleshooting Manual Protection Mode Symptom...
5X Blink - TCON & HFR Failure
The 5X blink protection mode indicates a communications error between the TCON/HFR board and the MT5388 microprocessor on the A-Board.
First replace the TCON/HFR Board if the 5X protection mode blink pattern occurs. If the TCON/HFR Board does not repair the problem then replace the A-Board.

I'm back again after about a month away. Back to my problem, horizontal lines and/or interference make watching my Samsung 52" flatscreen impossible. TV is 5 years old. A limited time recall has passe

The TCON board can give you both Horizontal and Vertical lines, it is real easy to fix and fairly cheap. The most I have had to pay for any TCON board has been $45 plus shipping. Mostly what goes bad on these boards are the IC, a part that costs around $5.00 but requires micro-soldiering experience and tools.

Try removing the clips from both ribbon cables and re seat them, if that doesn't fix it chances are the Tcon board has failed

Samsung 52" LCD TV has a bar down the middle of the screen.

that can be either a tconn issue about 60.00 or a bad LCD panel which is not repairable. I would assume its the Tcon board. You can get replacement Tcon from www.tvcircuitboards.com

I have a 46 inch Sony Bravia 46 XBR4 set. The right side went out only colored lines appear. The rest of the screen is fine. email address [email protected].

Sounds like the tcon (timing control) board. Sometimes unplugging the LVDS cables from the tcon, cleaning and reconnecting solves this. The catches on the LVDS cables are easily damaged and must be handled carefully.

I have coloured vertical lines on my 40-inch Samsung Series 7 LCD tv, sound ok, what is wrong? Can it be fixed, Yasna

is the screen full of vertical lines? It sounds like your Tcon has gone faulty but...there is hope. Firstly, only if you are competent with electrics follow the procedure bleow, else get a qualified tv engineer to inspect your tv.
Remove the back cover on the tv.Looking in from behind, check the power supply which is the board connected to the mains power lead. Check the capacitors, making sure none of them have bulging tops. These are the components shown below.
2e1ea71.jpg
The caps shown below are an example of faulty caps, with their tops bulging.
3b76c83.jpg
This model of tv is prone to this condition, and if you have any bulging topped caps, replace them.
Next check the Tcon LVDS lead connection. The Tcon is the board located top centre of the screen and is enclosed in a metal plate. It has a lead connected to it that goes to the main board. Clean the connector at the Tcon.Be very careful though because the connection is fragile. It can be removed by gently squeezing in either end of the connector and gently pulling outwards. If these procedures are not successful, replace the Tcon.
