SOURCE: LG super blu player won't play blu ray disc

Have you updated the firmware on it? I had a similar problem with a Sony blu-ray player and I had to download an update and burn it on to a CD then allow the CD to update the blu-ray player. What's the model number of your player, I may be able to get a link to the update for you.

SOURCE: our blu-ray disc player bdp-s300 won't play newest blu-ray

You will need the following:
1) Internet connection
2) Wired router
3) long enough ethernet cable to reach from your blue ray player to the router.

Step 1:
Eject any disks and turn off the blu-ray player by unplugging it.

Step 2:
Attach the ethernet cable to the router and the other end to the ethernet port on the back of the blu-ray player.

Step 3:
Turn on the blu-ray player and wait for it to load all the way.

Step 4:
Using the remote, arrow over to the left to "Setup", the up to "Network Update".

Step 5:
After the unit updates and restarts, repeat until it tells you "Already Updated".

That should help you play the newer movies, and even some of the older ones.

SOURCE: my samsung bd-p1500 blu-ray player won't play

I'm having the same problem. had my Blu-ray and my cable box plugged into my reciever. Blu-ray kept cutting out and not finding a signal while watching my Rome DVDs. I swapped HDMI cables by just switch which cable went out of my blu-ray ( I didn't change what ports they were plugged into on the reciever. That cleared up that problem. I'd assume it was a faulty HDMI cable except that it works fine on the cable box. Anyways, we were watching Iron Man on Blue-Ray and it starts to skip about 2 thirds through the movie. Same as you I updated the firmware, disabled BC-Live, No luck Don't know if the problem is hte Bluray player , the reciever or what. Everything is up to date so I don't get it at all.

Try completing the update.

The update file can be found here http://www.sharpusa.com/CustomerSupport/ProductDownloads.aspx

Select bluray disc players
model not listed
type in model number
Then click on search
Click on the instructions and read thme if you need to. If you do not need to read the instructions click on the firmware and save it to your desktop. After the download has completed open the folder and click on extract all files under folder tasks, which should be on the left of the window nearer to the top.

At this time insert a 1, 2 or 4 GB flash drive into your computer. Then in the window click on next if you need to or browse and then my computer and then the icon of the usb device itself. Click on extract or next. When it is done safely remove the usb device from your computer by clicking on safely remove hardware located near the time on the bottom right hand side of the computer monitor.
Click on the usb device and click on stop. Remove it from the computer and place it in the back of the bluray player. Turn the tv and bluray player on as if you were going to view a bluray. There shouldn't be any discs inside. Press the setup button on the bluray remote control. Choose settings. Choose software update. Begin the update. After it is completed turn off the bluray player before removing the usb device.

If the usb device needs to be reformatted or if the zip file folder is placed on the usb device instead of the extracted file the download will not be successful.

I have a DVD made 10 years ago whch plays on my PC (windows 7) when inserted into the DVD drive and also from windows media player. I want it to play from a USB for an 80th birthday coming up.

You need to rip the DVD with a DVD/Blu-ray ripping program.
A ripping program is software that can pull the content of a DVD out to a digital file, which can be put on a USB drive.
Here is a Tutorial to rip Blu-ray/DVD with Leawo Blu-ray Ripper. If you don't think you will ever need to rip a Blu-ray you can get a Leawo DVD Ripper which only rips DVD.

I have an LG BH7540TW 3D Blu-Ray / DVD Home Theatre system that only plays region 4. What are the unlock codes to play region 1 and how do I do it??

You cannot change the region on the player. If you want to play a region 1 disc, you'll have to use a computer and hook it up to your TV (you can change the region on optical drives a limited amount of times on computers), or acquire a region 1 player.

If you're savvy enough, you could rip (using a computer) the disk into a compressed format the LG system can read (MKV, MP4, etc.) and play it off a USB stick.

Will not play MP4

Not all players are capable of playing mp4 files or other non-standard formats. Let us know what kind of player you have and what you used to make the disks.

Can't play mp4 files

The mp4 files must be maximum 320x240 resolution, any larger and it will tell you that the file is not supported. If the mp4 is created with any profile other than "AVC Baseline" it will tell you the file is corrupted. It also won't do DRM, but I can't remember what, if any, DRM systems typically get used on mp4 files.
