Question about Kenmore 79012 / 79014 / 79019 Gas Kitchen Range
I cannot unlock the cooktop on my Kenmore gas range. There is no lockout button, only Select Clean and Stop/Clear. Neither one of which unlocked the cooktop. There is a little padlock looking symbol that says cooktop lockout, but there is no button. There is another one for the oven, but no button. How do I unlock the cooktop?

Your best bet is to unplug the stove and plug it back in again and hope that clears the lock

I'm sorry, but the model number given in the question is either wrong or incomplete. Please check that model number. Usually, on Kenmore ranges, you can find the model # and serial # on either the left or right side of the storage or warmer drawer. Open the drawer and look on the frame of the range for a label. On a few ranges, the label is affixed to the frame between the oven door and the drawer.
As an alternative, please post a clear picture of the control panel.

SOURCE: oven door won't unlock
I had this same issue and consulted the owner's manual. Once on self clean it takes up to 3-4 hours for it to automatically unlock. It is a built in safety feature of the oven.

SOURCE: After self- cleaning my Kenmore
This may be a silly question but, did you just try turning off the circuit breaker for a couple minutes to see if it resets itself when you flip it back on?
