I think you mean that the feed dogs are not moving the fabric under the foot and through to the back of the machine. The feed dogs have settings for different elevations. Look in your manual for this adjustment. Feed dogs are the "grippers" under your sewing machine foot. Another issue may be cleaning. When anything goes wrong with your machine, stop and clean it. Most problems can be solved with a good cleaning. Don't forget to oil according to the manual directions as well.

SOURCE: tread keeps coming out of the needle.

Make sure you sink the needle into the fabric before starting to sew. If that isn't it...remove the thread and rethread the machine. Make sure the thread isn't wrapped around the spool holder.

Try changing your needle you could be using the wrong or damaged one. When I was working on sewing machines that was the first thing we told a person when they were having trouble with there machine.
