I have a prestige se20 microwave and when you out it in it makes a weird crackling noise. Is this fixable and is it okay to use?

humming sound is your magneto going out Dont have any idea of the cost for replacement however it may be cheaper to purchase another microwave than to repair this one. Good Luck

If you do not see actual arcing in the cavity making the noise it is probably components on the inverter. Too exppensive to repair. Get a new one. Dont like or trust the inverters.

A microwave in standby mode should not crackle. There might be a slight humming sound from a transformer, but that should be all the noise it makes. You could have a transformer or control panel component that is failing.

I understand that you are receiving a burning rubber smell from your Frigidaire microwave. I also see that your appliance will run for a couple of seconds, and then you hear a weird noise, followed by a burning rubber smell. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician, especially when dealing with your microwave. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine what is causing that sound as well as the burning rubber smell. Hope this is helpful.

Is it a carousel (turning platter)? if it is, than it is probably dirt on the platter support wheels and the platter support groove/track on the bottom of the oven, clean the glass plate, the support wheels, and the bottom groove as well, if you want to make sure the crackling comes from the carousel system, take it all out (support and platter) than place a glass of water in the oven and start it, if there are no crackling noise than my theory is correct, if the noise is still there than have it checked by a professional technician...

Rattling, crackling type noise just started and is constant when microwave is running.

A couple of months ago my microwave started making crackling, rattling and grinding sounds everytime i used it and i thought it was going to break down. It turned out one of my children must have spillled or overflowed something with a clear liquid because the micro did not look dirty but there was a crunchy substance under the wheels of the turntable. Once i cleaned this up totally the noises all went away.

My microwave is making a cracking sound like if it had metal in it but i took everything out and its still making the cracking sound. What could be causing this sounds if microwave is empty?

A contaminated wave guide cover will crackle and spark.
They should be periodically checked, cleaned or replaced.
Contact Maytag for replacement parts.
Hope this fixes your noise.

GE profile advantium 120 display out, no operation but turntable runs when closed I have a GE profile advantium 120 PSB1201NSS01 microwave from 2009. Display is out, no oven operation but the turntable runs when the door is closed. The display and operation worked a few times when closing the door and flickered when I was checking the door switches. A replacement for hv diode inverter microwave ux-f5b Hi i have a inverter microwave (sharp r-380i) that is not hot but everything, light turntable works like normal replace the magnetron doesn't help. i found out the 2 hv diode in inverter board get shorted, i replaced both with cl01-12 but when run microwave, one diode got shorted again, make noise, can I buy cl04-12 for replacement, will it work? Or can i use hvr-1x instead? Or is there anything have to check more?
