Viper 4806v won't program

I am trying to install a viper 4806v two-way remote start/keyless entry in my automatic 2004 toyota camry LE 4cyl. I got the lock/unlock, horn, lights to work, and trunk pop to work. I can't seem to get the remote start to work. When I press the remote start button on the remote keypad, the car does not start and the headlights flash 7 times. Troubleshooting says 7 flashes mean a manual transmission mode error. This means I have to enter programming menu 3 and change the starter to automatic mode. When I follow the directions to get to menu 3, nothing happens because I cannot get to menu 3 when I hold down the control button after turning the ignition off. In other words, the control button is not working. The neutral switch is on like it is supposed to be. Kind of bummed about this. Could use some guidance. My wiring goes accordingly and this car does not have an immobilizer because I used a regular metal key to start it. This car has no alarm, just a stock keyless entry, trunk release, and panic button. Again, the problem is :The remote start comes in default manual transmission mode so I have to switch it to automatic transmission mode but I can't seem to enter programming. When I try to enter programming with the procedure followed using the control button, nothing happens. It does not chirp and the LED does not blink. I also cannot enter valet mode using the control button. When the car is locked, the LED blinks and stop blinking if car is unlocked ignition is turned on. I do not understand what is going on. SOURCE: Power door locks

You will need two power door lock actuators. They are pretty easy to install and would be wired to the new alarm system.

From what I see, decent DEI ones go for about 50 a pop. Atleast, in my area retail. If its something you are interested in, as of Aug 18th I still have two BRAND NEW in box that I never used on a client's old honda DX. Both the high powered versions.

Hit me up if interested sometime ddowling06 at g mail .com

SOURCE: Viper 791 XV Automatic Start Not Working

Try putting the key in the key cylinder but do not turn it at all. Then try and remote start the car. If it works then your bypass module is bad and needs to get replaced.

SOURCE: viper works but remote start and keyless entry does not

On the remote start part, it might be as simple as relearning the tach. To do this, crank the car with the key, press and hold the valet switch until the led lights and stays solid now release.Try the remote start. Need to know what kind of car to comment on doorlocks.

SOURCE: Viper 5101 Manual Transmission - can't start

First off, is it in neutral? It can't engage the starter motor if it's in gear. Secondly, If it was professionally installed, why not just take it back and demand that they fix it?

Your wiring should somewhat match this.

Hooked up a Viper 5301 in a 2004 Nissan Murano. The problem I'm facing is that the unit is only programming when the vehicle is started and running, instead of programming after turning the ignition on...

It sounds like you have your ignition and starter wires reversed. The remote start programs when the ignition wire sees 12 volts and then loses the 12 volts. If you have the remote starts igniton wire on the trucks starter wire then that is why you can prgram it when you start it only... cause you get 12 volt only when the truck cranks and then loses the 12 volts once it is runnng. You may have the right colors from the remote starter correct but check to see if maybe from DEI they have the wires in the wrong positions.

I ordered a viper 3002, does it have a remote start and I'm just not seeing it?

The Viper 3002 is not a remote start system. It is only a security system with keyless entry. In order to remote start your vehicle with the 3002, you will need an add-on unit installed.

Viper 5901, Ford 2008 6.4/ When I use the trucks door keypad

If you use the viper remote to arm the alarm, you MUST use the viper remote to disarm the alrm prior to opening the door. The only REAL solution is to add the keyless entry feature to the viper system, and quit using hte factory remote all together.
