Hi Linda Wallman, thanks for your post!

I see that your Electrolux cooktop is displaying an "E40" error code. Typically, the "E40" stands for no communications, shorted bus. This could be an internal communication error with your left control board, relay board, or filter board. I would recommend getting a technician out to your home for proper diagnosis and repair. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

Ge monogram induction cooktop error F

The induction cooktop will flash "F" when cookware has been removed from the surface; cookware is not present when the unit is turned on; or cookware is not centered on the element.
Position the cookware properly over the center of the cooking surface if the error code "F" flashes. Use only induction cookware and use a bigger pan, as the error code "F" indicates that the pan is too small for the cooking element.

Step 3 - Apply A Cooktop Cleaner
Use a few drops of cooktop cleaner to the scratch area. Use a sponge to rub in cleaner. Use circular motions to allow scratch to absorb product. Run the razor edge over scratch again making sure not to apply to much pressure.

Displays error 40. Why won't it turn on?

Hi Dolores, I understand that your cooktop will not turn on after receiving an error code "40". Usually this error code can indicate a communication error between the Induction Module, Relay Board, and Control Board. I would also recommend doing a hard reset by unplugging or turning the household power breaker off to the appliance for five to ten minutes. If the problem persists, please reach out to a professional technician. Hope this helps! -JK

I am having error codes 35 and 75 come up on my induction cooktop

Thank you for your post, friend!
I located that on Electrolux Cooktop error codes "35" and "75" stand for input voltage too low. It could be an issue with your filter board or an issue within the voltages. I would recommend having a professional come out to your cooktop to properly diagnose to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. -Matt

The unit light (not the hot surface indicator light) in my GE Profile ceramic cooktop does not turn off although the burners are off.

Hi Danielle, I reviewed the manual for the GE JP350 cook top. Pg. 6 states:

"The UNIT ON indicator light will glow when any surface unit is on."

If the burners are all set fully to the Off position, this lamp should be off. The off position requires that the knob be pressed in to change to Lo, High or any position between (once no longer in the Off position, depressing the knob to change it is not required). If you're able to change the from Off position without pressing the knob, there is an issue with the switch - that may be contributing to the problem.

The cooktop is a 208 / 240 volt appliance. This is the highest voltage in your home. Voltages as low as 50 in the right circumstances can kill, and for this reason repairs must be performed with safety as the first priority. The cooktop sensors have determined that a control is on. If they are indeed off, there is a problem with either the sensor or one (or more) of the controls. You may have luck by locating the circuit breaker or fuse (2 pole 40 amp breaker or (2) 40 amp fuses) and removing power from the cooktop for a minute or two, and then restore power. This would allow the electronics to reset and if a logic problem - it would clear. If there is a hard fault somewhere, the indication would return again.

You should have the cooktop professionally serviced if the indicator fails to extinguish. I hope this helps & good luck!

Glass top is scratched and discolored...can you replace just the glass top? Susan

GLASS MAINTOP ASSY
Part Number PS253905
price around $812.92

Replaced main glass cooking surface on cooktop

First, shut of the breaker to the cooktop.
Then removed two screws to release brackets holding cooktop down. Then lifted the cooktop out of the recess in the counter top and removed the screws around the outside of the glass top. Removed the old, cracked top, by unplugging from the motherboard.
Turned the new cooktop upside down on table and placed weather stripping around the entire underside outside edge (to keep spills from going under the cooktop and cushion the cooktop from the counter top.
Then plugged the new cooktop into the motherboard, replaced screws around outside edge, lowered the cooktop into the recess in the counter, and reinserted the two screws into the hold-down brackets.
Turned the breaker back on.
Note: Just need Screw drivers and 40 minutes of your time.

How do i clean my cooktop on a whirlpool 465

Light Cleaning
  • Clean your CERAN cooktop after every use. To remove simple spills, wait for the surface to cool before beginning the cleaning process. Pour a small amount of cleaning cream on a damp paper towel and wipe the cooktop surface until the soil and cream are no longer visible. The cleaning cream will leave a protective finish, which will preclude scratches and other types of damage.
  • Heavy Cleaning
  • Wear a heavy oven mitt to remove burnt foods or liquids while the cooktop is still warm. Use the metal razor scraper to remove the substances that are stuck to the cooktop surface. Once the cooktop has cooled, use a damp paper towel to spread a small amount of cleaning cream over the entire cooktop surface and wipe it thoroughly until the cream is no longer visible. Rinse the cooktop with water and dry with a clean paper towel.
  • Cleaning Melted Substances
  • Remove melted plastic, foil or other kitchen products immediately using the metal razor scraper. Spills containing sugar, such as ketchup, tomato sauce, syrup or pudding, must also be removed with the metal scraper at once. It is best to remove these substances while the burner is still hot. Once the melted substance has been removed and the cooktop has cooled, use a damp paper towel and cleaning cream to complete the cleaning process. To protect your hands, remember to wear a thick oven mitt when cleaning the hot cooktop.
  • Tips
  • Scratch marks resulting from daily use will not interfere with the performance of your cooktop. Pots and pans with flat bottoms and those that cover the entire burner surface are recommended for use on your CERAN cooktop.
  • Warnings
  • Spills containing sugar may permanently damage your cooktop unless the substance is removed immediately. Use only the recommended cleaning products on your CERAN cooktop to protect it from damage. Do not use scouring pads, plastic coated sponges or abrasive products of any type. Do not use oven spray or any other type of cleaner containing ammonia or chlorine. Clean all spills thoroughly before using your cooktop again.

    F113

I have the same problem. I had a repair man here and he said the main powder logic board ( WB23T10014) was the problem, it would cost $757 to fix. I ordered the board for $230 and installed it myself but still have the F113 problem.
