Question about Televison & Video
My 15 month Celcus LCD423D913FHD tv will not turn on. The standby light is lit and will flicker but will not power up the tv when the start button is pressed. What is the likely problem?
Go to your manual and go through the setup procedure again. If this does not resolve your issue, look up the company website or contact information in the manual. Either call for assistance, or go up to the company website and click on contact. Provide the model number of the TV and details of the issue that you are encountering. Trying to correct an issue in the public domain is cluttered with misinformation, and is less than ideal. Going directly to the manufacturer will connect you with a qualified Technician who will assuredly have the answers that you are seeking. Posted on Mar 03, 2015

Fault with its main board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

SOURCE: Power issue with Olevia LT23

I have a 24" Olevia LCD TV. Same symptoms (Stdby LED is on, press power and it flashes off, then back on). The USB cable to the Service Port also worked. But being of sound technical mind, I figured this means that the PC is supplying the +5v to the circuit. What I did was disassebled the TV, carefully disconnected all the cables, and opened it up to reveal the circuitry. I looked over the circuit and noticed the 1000uf/16v capacitor at position CS21 was failed and bulging. I removed the cap, tested it and verified that it was indeed failed. I went to a local Radio Shack and picked up a 1000uf/35v electrolytic, after all, the value is what mainly matters as long as it's not lower voltage than the original. I replaced the new CS21 capacitor back in the circuit (it is polarity sensitive, so pay attention to what the original mounting position is). I reassembled the TV and Viola! Works! No need for the USB cable to the Service Port!
I hope this helps someone!

SOURCE: INSIGNIA LCD won't turn on
replace 2 condensers in the power supply with greater voltage ones.original are 1000uf 35volt...use 1000uf 65volt...99cents each
power circuit is made to fail with typical tv industry tactics...the warranty is reflected by the life of their condensors (capacitors) average life is 2000 hours..
if your a smoker...you must clean the button cover as they get stuck on with your stupid tobacco residue. 75% of all LCD tv's that smokers own fail this way...
TRY TO STOP SMOKING...

A job for the technician on this one. I have only worked on several flat screen before, on my last days as an electronic technicians. Half of the ones I worked on was the power supply inside ir the problem was like this. Instruction on how to fix them would require me to write many pages on electronic theory so, I am very sorry It is almost impossible for me to help you on that. Be carefull where you take that tv to. some shop can't fix those. You may have to search your local area for someone who specialize in flat sreen HDTV. Well I hope I have shed a little light on the problem. Thanx for posting the problem.
