Changing the setting won't affect the way the unit works, only how long it runs for. Rapid switching off and on will kill your compressor in time - check the refrigerant level. Usually short cycling on lp switch.

SOURCE: pressure in both lines fluctuate from 140psi to below 30psi

The foreign made market is different than the USA.

First if the unit doesn't get a change or input from a manual command (on the remote on mine) it will shut off because it assumes there is no one there.

2nd if it is in the timer mode it may be different in orientation than what you are used to looking at.

TO make sure these are not your problem review the instructions.

If this is R22 or R410A there is not a pressure switch that will cut it "OFF" at 140#. And if your fluctuating tween 30 and 140 It is almost sure its low on charge especially if its new. Now I assume you mean 140 on the high side, right?

Why does my ac disengage while driving

when the thermostat in side the car reaches the setting it will shut down the ac compressor otherwise the temperature would go to freezing. On some cars the setting is by the temp knob in the dash and in others it is pre-set at cold and if that is too cold then the heater starts to work to keep it comfortable (climate controlled ac )

Why can't I lower my honeywell 8500 below 67 on cool?

With a two story house you have to be aware that cold air flows downwards so any cold air coming from an ac unit will flow downstairs( normally down the stairway) so unless you can close off the down stairs then the up stairs unit will be cooling downstairs as well. Ac units have a thermostat located in the air intake and it cools until the cold air has risen to that point. In effect the space above the ac unit will be hotter than the floor. Knowing how they work ,you can see that the upstairs unit will never reach the set temperature because the cold air is continually heating from the house and will never get to the top thermostat.
So your solutions are
1-- fit controls that restrict the cold air from leaving the upper floor (Doors)
2--don't run the upper ac unit unless you are living up there (waste of money
)3 place an ac in each upper room and keep the room door closed

Hello im using Mitsubishi AC...everything was ok.We went on holiday,we switch off the fuses...after 30days ac not working ...light flashing 7 times...no hot air, just cold...we are freezing...whats wrong

Normally, any a/c keeps off for long time in winter, there are chances to get gas become ice in compressor due to ambient temp. It/s advised to service the unit with warm water and then start the unit. Better call repairman to check amps whenever you restart the unit after long period.

New Mr. Slim system just installed. Set to "Heat." Temp setting adjustment on the remote control will not go below 59 degrees. Is that factory setting? Set at 59 it keeps room at 70 degrees,...

I have a related concern. I put the Mr. Slim unit in my garage/workshop and most of the time need it just to keep the pipes from freezing. I'd like to set it at 45 or 50 degrees, but the lowest it allows is 59. I bought this to save energy, but it's forcing me to keep the room warmer that I'd like.

Mr slim Mitsubishi - how much fill

On the data plate for the outdoor unit it will tell you what type and how much refrigerant you need. If the line set is longer than 25 feet you will likely need a bit more than what it says. A 40 degrees evaporator temperature is ideal, approximately 65 psi for r22
