Unscrew, then pull crown out 2 clicks. Spin crown, advancing hands clockwise. Keep turning until you notice the date changing at the 12 oclock mark. This is midnight. Then set time as needed.
Push crown in all the way. Then pull out one click. Turning crown sets day of week and day of month, turning opposite way.
Push crown all the way in and slightly depress as you screw it down until it stops.

I went to put a new battery in a LACOSTE model or part number 2000308 ladies leather strap watch only to find that there was no movement at all ???? what movement and spacer if any do I need

A watch with no movement in it is probably a salesman's sample or display model. These are often distributed to stores as part of a larger display. In addition to missing a movement, you should also check to see whether the hands have been glued in place. This is also often done because, without a movement, the hands would just flop around instead of staying in an attractive position.
Watch movements come in a variety of standard sizes and shapes. However, a standard ladies watch movement (made by many manufacturers) would probably fit your watch case. This size movement is today used in much larger watches, too; the movement is simply anchored by an appropriate spacer.
A jeweler advertising watch repair should be able to offer you a price on this job. If the hands have been glued to the dial, it may not be worth "upgrading" the watch because of the additional expense and potential damage to the watch face from getting the hands freed up.
If you're ambitious and want to try it yourself, movements can be found online at a variety of watch supply houses like Otto Frei. You can also buy a cheap new or used watch at a flea market or thrift store and use the movement from that. You might be able to re-purpose the spacer in that watch, too, by trimming it to fit your watch case. The major stumbling point here is that watch stems--i.e., the stem on which the setting crown is located--are usually custom-cut in length to match a specific case, and the one you select may be too long or too short for your case. A watch repair place should be able to replace the stem and crown for you, if you need that service. Trimming an overly-long stem is a very simple and cheap procedure; replacing the stem requires a new stem, which will add to the cost of the repair.

I have a mickey mouse watch and I can't set it. It is running. It is a Lorus with the numbers vg91 6000 Z0 call 256-757-1533 Thanks

If any analog watch will not set and it is running, most likely the set wheel (gear) of the movement is damaged and the entire movement must be replaced. The wheel alone is not possible to replace.

I recommend visiting or contacting your local Certified Master Horologist to attain what is usually a free estimate or quote on the replacement of the movement.

Cant set digital time and date and alarm, downloaded manual but does not work

There is a reset procedure for most LCD watches to reset the LCD after installing the battery. It is different for every watch brand and movement (inner works). I recommend visiting your local Certified Master Horologist for proper battery and resetting procedure.

Improperly resetting any digital watch by shorting the wrong connection can essentially short out the movement, and the movement / watch must then be replaced, whichever is least expensive.

How do I change the time on my Citizen Alarm Chronograph WR 50 watch?

First we need to determine what movement is in the watch.
Look on the back of the watch. You will see some numbers there will be a 4 digit number followed by a dash and 6 or 7 digit number.
The 4 digit number is the movement number. example e760 or b210. Ctizen has hundreds of them.
Next click on this link:
http://www.citizenwatch.com/COA/English/settings.asp
enter the movement number and click on get setting instructions.

How do I remove the crown/stem to take the watch movement out of the case? thanks Marc

To remove the stem you must first loosen the set lever screw, then you can pull the stem out.
You only need to turn the set lever screw a couple turns to release the stem. Some movements use a button instead and in that case you would simply push the button down lightly with a pointed tool and while holding the button down pull the stem out.
For watches with one-piece cases where the movement comes out the dial side and the case has no removable back, you will not be able to get at the set lever screw. For this type of watch you must grasp the crown firmly and pull it out, or use plastic or soft brass tweezers to get behind the crown and pop it off. These watches have two-piece stems that have male and female ends that snap together. Then remove the bezel and let the movement come out into your hands. Then remove the hands and the dial and put the movement face down into a movement holder.

Need switch settings for Steinhausen watch winder to suit an Omega Coaxial movement. I do not have the original manual, and I cannot tell how to set the switches to get the appropriate winding action for...

Leave the settings as for ordinary automatic movement. Co-axial movement has nothing to do with winding process - it was developed for more precise time keeping and friction reducing only, so, you can wind the watch in winder as usual.

Bijoux Terner ''Sport'' digital watch, model R0803M. Module appears to be WR30M. Setting sequence seems to be messed up...

If you are having trouble setting the watch there could be an issue with the movement itself! I suggest taking to a watch repair business and having them take a look. If the movement is bad it shouldnt cost too terribly much to replace it.

Find your calibre number:
