HP LaserJet 2840: Page 'Too Complex'

Hi,

Ever since we have installed this printer it has issues printing multiple pages - usually 3 or more.

It prints a few pages and then stops with a message on the LCD screen 'page too complex'

Any other users have this problem?

Hey there. Either adding memory to the printer or limiting the USB speed was a solution in all my cases.

I've not seen that particular message on the 2820 I'm responsible for. Usually a 'page too complex' error on a LaserJet printer indicates more memory needs to be added. Probably another 64 meg in this case would be fine.
My problem with the 2820/2830/2840 series is they make way too much noise for an office or home environment.

Turn printer on.
On your printer, press the Menu button
Press 2 (on the fax dial pad)
Press the right arrow (next to Enter button) until you arrive at "High Speed USB.
Press Enter
Press right arrow to select "Off."
Press Enter.
Press Enter again.

The printer will reboot automatic.

I hope this help!

I have 2840 that shows the page too complex when trying to copy, just get about one inch of print. Also doesn't want to print from computer most of the time, and no scan function. I tried all of the fixes and no change. Even took it apart and checked the capacitors in power circuits which is usually what goes bad and causes strange problems. Also pulled all plug in wires and put back in since this is anothewr problem I have run into. I think it has a bad brain since it has been working fine for many years and I haven't changed anything.

OMG. Thank you so much. This worked just fine. Whoever you are that posted the solution the first time around I really appreciated. The printer is finally doing what its suppose to do. All it needs to do again is scan and transfer pictures on a Mac. Thanks for the tip. By the way HP support sucks. this is not a cheap machine and the support you get from them is not cheap either. If they ever go out of business the will not be missed here in Everett, Washington. Thanks again.

HP 2840 will not print on 3 inches of left side of page

Take the toner cartridge out, shake it back and forth, and turn it around in a circle a few time. Put it back in the priter, and print. Order a new toner cartridge.

If this is an inkjet printer, ignore this response.

I have an HP 2840 and recently when it begins to print it says...Page too complex and won't print.

Have you tried simplifying the page to be printed? What memory is installed in the printer. You may need to upgrade the printer memory or the memory could be faulty.
