There are buttons on top of the projector that correspond to the needed buttons on the remote. Follow the directions in the manual using those buttons rather than using the remote.
- Press the Menu button
- Arrow all the way to the right on the menu and stop on Resets
- Press the enter button and select the reset option desired and press the enter button and confirm your choice.

the power supply on that model seem to go bad after a while. the caps aren't properly reted it's power needs. they dry up. if you are good at soldering, replace c1 on the board (big cap) with a cap that has a slightly higher voltage rating. or replace the whole power supply. you might not be able to get one from nec, but you can try www.projectordoctor.com
If the problem is what I describe as a blue haze over the entire image projected, I was told this is a defect in the cable - we have a Dell Video Projector 2300 - and it takes only a dell VGA cable.
So, the problem is in the cable - solution is replace cable.
