Make sure your supply line to the dishwasher isn't kinked or blocked in some way. Also, make sure your house's water pressure is about 30 to 70 psi. If everything is fine on the supply side, then it's most likely the water inlet valve.
Try removing the supply line to the water inlet valve and see if you have grit and whatnot clogging the screen on the valve. If so, try to clean out the screen and re-hook everything back up and give it a test. If you still have low water levels, you'll need to replace the water inlet valve.

Good luck!

I have a 2013 dodge journey 4 cyl......my coolant tank shows about 1 inch low on coolant ....is it ok to add tap water to bring it up to max level

No , never use tap water ! A 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze ! Is it low when engine is hot or is below add cold mark . Should be two levels hot or cold ! And use distilled water if you make your own 50/50 mix .

not the pump but air in the system or a broken wire to the coolant level sensor
that sensor at the top of the radiator tank has to be completely immersed in coolant or the circuit is broken and the light comes on

Water level too low. clother wet. No water visible or suds. What is wrong.

Your expectations are based on top load washers.
Front load washers use only a very little water, and suds are an enemy. (HE soaps are designed to clean without suds. Suds are really for show and cause drag on the wash tub during spin.) If you start a load with no clothes, you will see that the water level never gets above a couple inches in the tub. That is the correct water level for front loading machines. PS. Because of the low water use, make sure you use very little soap. (one to two tablespoons per load only!)
