Check the thermal fuse, check the belt switch. If these are OK, check the timer. The timer troubleshooting guide may be located within the control panel. If the dryer still doesn't turn on, check motor winding continuity, and finally control board. Perform these checks with dryer unplugged. Most likely causes: Thermal fuse or timer. If thermal fuse is problem, clean dryer duct after fuse replacement.
How could the belt be in working order if the drum doesn't spin? Check to see if the belt has come off the motor. If the motor runs but your dryer doesn't spin, the belt is off. If the motor runs with the belt on but it still won't spin then you'll have a lot of black smoke because your drum is jammed. In other words, there are a number of things that could be wrong, but not very many.
why didn't you just wait till you got the fuse?you blew the first fuse because something is wrong and overheating it,you might have just needed to clean out the dryer because that's usually the cause of poping them now you might have cooked wires or anything else, not smart, what fuse did you jump out and send complete model number
The dryer must have a blockage. Better check the vent and filter housing for excess lint buildup. These dryers have fuses mounted on the blower housing to kill the dryer before the thing catches on fire. MORE
Nothing you did wrong! Probably needs a new heating element. Prices vary by model. Call Sears/Kenmore parts center nearest you. Tell 'em you need a heat element for your dryer. Be sure to provide your dryer's model number.
