How we get quadratic equation variables?

Hi rayalak857,

Have a nice day.

Calculator does not have a solve program, but you can use it to solve the quadratic equation with a little effort. If you know the theory skip toward the end.
Here is the example:

Let aX^2+bX+C=0
1. First calculate the discriminant usually called Delta and given by
Delta =b^2 -4*a*c store the value in the variable D
If Delta is positive you have two roots X1 and X2 given by
X1=(-b+square root of Delta)/(2*a)
X2=(-b- square root of Delta)/(2*a)

If Delta is equal to 0, X1=X2=-b/(2*a)
If Delta i negative, no real solutions exist

You only solve if Delta is positive or equal to 0.

Putting in the values of a, b, and c
value of a (put you number) [SHIFT][STO] A
value of b (put your value) [SHIFT][STO] B
value of c (put you value) [SHIF][STO] C

[ALPHA] B [X^2] -4[x][ALPHA] A [x][ALPHA] C [=]
Value of delta is displayed. If it is positive, you store its square root in D

[Square root] [ANS] [SHIFT][STO] D ;

Calculate 1/(2*a) and store in variable F
1./(2[x] ALPHA A) [SHIFT][STO] F

To obtain X1
[ALPHA] F [x] ( (-) ALPHA B + ALPHA D ) [=]
To obtain X2
[ALPHA] F [x] ( (-) ALPHA B - ALPHA D ) [=]

Be careful: the (-) is the change sign not the regular minus sign.

Hope it helps. Goodluck

Thank you for using fixya.

How do I the ALPHA f1 function menu to appear so I can enter fractions

Hi...

You can access F1 by
  1. Press and Release "ALPHA" Key
  2. Now press desire function key. Here in this case, Press "Y="

Many keys in this calculator serves one than one function which can be access through by pressing either "2nd"(Blue Key) or "ALPHA"(GREEN KEY). Such extra functions are noted on keys in Green or Blue color. These additional functions are accessed by first pressing corresponding color key and desired function Key.

For example:
pressing UP and DOWN keys navigates the screen up and down
if we press ALPHA key and then UP/DOWN key, it will scroll screen UP/DOWN by a page. Also you can use this combination for copy functions.
if we press 2nd Key instead of ALPHA, we can change Contrast of The screen

Casio fx-300es. How do you enter a variable? what button do you press to represent x in x+7=14 or any other problem with a variable. Everyone has a ti 84 and they have a button for x.

You have a way to enter the Variables A, B,C,D, Y and X.
Use the ALPHA key
For A use ALPHA change sign key (-), below the Fraction Template.
For B use ALPHA (degree ' ")
For C use ALPHA (HYP)
For D use ALPHA (SIN)
For X use ALPHA right )
For Y use , ALPHA (S-D) key
For =, use ALPHA and the key below the SHIFT key. May be marked CALC. The = is in the same color as the ALPHA on calculator. It should be to the upper right side of a key.

(I have an FX-991ES that is compatible with the FX-300ES, but since I do not have a picture of the FX-300ES calculator I cannot be more specific than I have been, lest I mislead you.)

This website keeps sending me in circles

  1. I checked your problems. There are three questions asked by you. The first one concerns how to insert the = sign to create an algebraic equation. It was answered correctly by someone.
  2. The second one also concerning the = is still awaiting a solution. But it was filed under Copiers.
  3. The third question (this very one) is no question at all since you claim the site is sending you in circles.

Here is the solution to your two questions.
To insert an equal sign in an equation on the Casio FX-115ES one uses the key combination [ALPHA][CALC] (=).

To insert other variables (A,B,C,D,X,Y) you do as follows

[ALPHA][(-)] (A).
[ALPHA][' " "] (B).
[ALPHA][hyp] (C).
[ALPHA][sin] (D).
[ALPHA][ ) ] (X).
[ALPHA][S<=>D] (Y).

The only other uses of the [ALPHA] key are
[ALPHA][Integral] (:)
[ALPHA][M+] (M) to access constant memory register
[ALPHA][x10^x] (e) to access value of the base of the natural logarithm.

I cant connect my wireless network for my PS3 to my iMac router

Assuming this is an apple product, check how many chactors in password, and in the description of the wpa or wap if it says hex or hexadecimal then one common problem is the standard is 13 charactors if yours is less the software fills (and the router assumes) 13 so autofills the rest, differebt manufactrors use different fill in charactors so it seems wrong. My workaround was to add As up to 13 at both ends and it worked.
