What happens when it stops? Do you get an error message? Does it say that it's out of thread? Are you doing embroidery, or sewing at the time?

SOURCE: machine beeps and stops sewing, no error message displayed

sounds like not through the tension plate (on top) right... rethread and make sure you hold the thread taunt toward you as you putt through top tension... you should hear a slight click and some resistance...

SOURCE: machine will not stitch

It is either a top or bottom tension problem. Top tension speaks for itself. Most folks do not know that there is the facility on the bobbin case to alter the bottom tension. Your user manual will tell you how to do this. It is very difficult to describe how to do it you need diagrams or to be shown

SOURCE: My Futura CE-150 beeps and stops sewing after only a few stitches

Look for the buttonhole lever, just in front of the presserlever, on the lefthand side of the machine. Pull it down and push it back to the top. Good Luck

Consew 75T Sewing machine. Why does my Consew 75T stop stitching after making 10 or so inches of hem?

Is the thread breaking? Most sewing machine issues are caused by incorrect threading or incorrect bobbin tension and upper thread tension. Another reason could be that the bobbin carrier and shuttle are not properly latched in.

Or the machine just needs servicing and the timing done.

Why is my 7700 only stitching backwards

Follow the instructions below if the machine is stuck on reverse
1. Turn the machine off.
2. The reverse button may be stuck in the reverse position.
- Press and release the button to see if it releases and allows the machine to sew in the forward direction.
3. Check that you have selected the correct stitch.
Some stitches will sew in reverse and some will sew reinforcement stitches.
4. Make sure you are holding down the button while sewing 3-5 stitches.
If you do not hold the button down while sewing reinforcement stitches, the needle will sew in the same place.
5. Remove bobbin and clean the bobbin area. Reinstall bobbin.
6. Turn the machine off and hold the reverse button for 3-5 seconds.
7. Turn the machine back on and test to see if the machine will sew forward.

I have a baby lock Esante EXE when sewing a straight stitch, i take my foot off the foot peddle but the machine will continue to sew about 5-8 stitches instead of stopping, any ideas why this happens?

Try to solate the problem to machine or foot control by detaching foot control and use stop/start. If stop after a start exhibits same as foot pedal then likely the problem is machine control board else, foot pedal. Could be foot control is sticking and not completely opening or slow to open.

Buttonholing - Bernina 950 (semi-industrial)

This sewing machine looks exactly like the Berninas that I own, although my are not industrial. You just use the dial to make each side of the buttonhole, only having to set the stitch length to super small. The way you make buttonholes is this:

Think of the buttonhole as a square-ish capital O, with the center of the bottom of the O as the point where the button shank will lie when buttoned. Place the marked buttonhole area under the buttonhole foot, with this bottom point directly under the foot, squarely in the center of the 'hole'.
-Turn the dial to 1 and the long left edge will sew in zig zag stitches; stop the machine at the top of the O.
-Then turn the dial to 2 and the top edge of the O will sew; stop the machine after half a dozen stitches.
-Turn the dial to 3 and the right edge will sew; stop the machine at the bottom of the O.
-Turn the dial to 4 and the bottom edge of the O will sew; stop the machine after half a doze stitches.
-Turn the dial to 5 and run half a dozen stitches; this is a line of straight stitches that will 'tie off' the buttonhole.

Try this with a plain piece of fabric. Just put the fabric under the foot and dial away. You'll see how the stitches stitch.

I'll send a copy of instructions from my manual to you if you want. Email me at: [email protected].

Changing stitches on a White 1418 sewing machine...

I have a White 1418. Here's how you do it:

1. Attach the buttonhole presser foot (should have come with your machine) and place the fabric underneath.
2. Set the stitch length knob to 0, the zigzag width knob to 5, and set the needle position to center. Sew 3-5 stitches.
3.Change the stitch length to 0.5, the zigzag width to 2, and the needle position to left. Sew to the entire length of your buttonhole.
4.Set stitch length knob to 0, zigzag width knob to 5, and needle position to center and sew about 3-5 stitches
5. Set the stitch length knob to 0.5, zigzag width to 2, and set needle position to the right. Pressing the R button (reverse button), sew up to the top stitches.
6. Remove the fabric and open the button hole with a button hole cutter.

Sounds complicated, but it's really easy. I love this machine, you just have to know how to use it!
