Samsung ps wx30 surround sound system. speakers are plugged in to dvd player. dvd player is connected to tv via hdmi cable. speakers only work when using dvd player and not tv/sky etc.. am i missing some...

Hi,here is my simple solution...
To listen your TV on your
samsung ps wx30 surround sound system ,
** you need to connect "Audio Output " RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" or "HDMI out " of your TV unit
** to "AUX input " or "TV" OR "Any input" of your
dvd player or "Optic Cable input" or "HDMI input"
** than just switch to respective mode on
dvd player corresponding your RCA or Optic connection or HDMI ..
.
There you go..Your TV sound is on the
dvd player By this means whatever you watch on the
TV (
tuner, satellite , Xbox , etc..) ,it's sound will come thru your
dvd player.

Hope this helps!..if more he?p requires pls let me know..
Take care and please

To switch your Pioneer DV-400V DVD player back to an interlaced video mode after selecting a progressive scan mode and loosing picture, follow these steps:

  1. Switch everything off.
  2. Reconnect using the supplied video cable (standard RCA Red White & Yellow).
  3. Switch the player to standby.
  4. Press and hold the Standy/ON button while pressing the |<< button.
This resets your player to default video output, allowing you to reconfigure your HDMI settings to 1080i, and then reconnect your HDMI cable.

I hope that helps.

I just bought a samsung bd -p1600 and connected to a samsung plasma tv, it just comes up not a supported mode. tried 2 blue ray disks with no luck. switched from hdmi 1 to hdmi 2 input with the same...

Check that the player is set-up in to a mode that is supported by your TV set. You should consult the user manuals of both the TV set and the player to follow through. Another solution which may be easier is to colll the Samsung service support.

Compatibility Issue with HDMI Switch?

anytime your talking about a switch your talking about a temporary connection. The issue with using a switch is that for HDMI you want best quality and you will not get that using a temporary connection. The unit may be recognizing a weaker signal and turning the port off. However since the output on that particular unit is 1080i you should be fine using composite, just get a nicer monster set.
