Was watching a program and the screen went black The power light would come on momentarily and you could hear the sound that normally happens when you turned it on, but the TV didn't come back on.

Appears to be a power supply issue with everything being so dead.

did you hear the sounds? or maybe you have defective power source in hot side..

Something is causing the TV shut down or go in to 'protect' mode.
It is unusual to actually hear a component inside the TV go bad, but you obviously did. Probably in the main power supply or something that normally uses a higher voltage in the TV since you heard it..

Check its backlight inverter board.

If the picture faded over time and then went out completely....you have a bad digital main board. Hope this helps.

I have a panasonic TH-42PX60U plasma TV. When I watch TV programing I have no problems, or with the DVD input. But if I switch to another input, be it video game (PS2) or vcr the screen sometimes goes black and the red power lcd light next to the power switch flashes. Holding the power button in for a few seconds will shut down the tv. Then I can turn it back on and it may operate normally again for a undetermined period of time, before the screen goes black again. This never happened when new. The tv is about 1 year old. Any ideas on this problem? Thanks Ernie

1 check mains power plug is all right
2 if you can check by changing the main's coard

if your problem not solved call the service persone the probleam is with main poer supply in your tv.
