SOURCE: lenovo thinkpad R51e ,when i power on the laptop it show error271

This error message is generated when the BIOS Date and Time is incorrect. Go into the BIOS configuration to change the Date and Time. When you reboot and still get the same error message then the BIOS battery is flat and needs to be replaced and the Date and Time setting needs to be change to the current Date and Time after replacing the battery.
If you cannot get into the BIOS configuration (press F1 on bootup) or you get a lock icon in the top LH corner of the screen, this is a Power on Password symbol, enter the passsword to bootup the laptop and then press F1 to get into the BIOS configuration.

This may be a software or driver conflict. Look for out-of-date apps. Look for version numbers of all apps, games, utilities. Belarc (free at belarc.com) is a simple tool to gather all the version information on your computer. Confirm that each program's "system requirements" list your current OS level by visiting the software manufacturer's site and checking for your specific software or driver version. Either remove or update any that are not specifically compatible.

The cursur jumps all over the place when I type in lenovo e530

Make sure you disable or turn off the touchpad when you are typing. You are accidentally hitting the touchpad when typin that causes your cursor to be erratic. I suggest to plug in a mouse and disable the touchpad.

How do i fix keystrokes that jump backward as I type?

Some Lenovo touchpads are over sensitive and they cause the cusor to slip or jump around. In Control Panel select Mouse or Touchpad. A box will open and you can locate touchpad Properties and adjust the sensitivity. Lenovo also has updated touchpad software/drivers for one or two of the most troublesome models. i was able to reduce the cursor jumping around quite a bit by adjusting the sensitivity, but i still don't think it's a good design.

My lenovo e530 few keys stop working due to spill

Go to Amazon.com and search for an aftermarket keyboard for you make and mdl. It would be a cheep fix (most likely under $25.00) if it doesn't come with instructions google replace keyboard and add your make and model. Most keyboards are held in by 4 or 6 screws accessed on the bottom of your computer. After you remove the screws open the computer and lift the old one carefully until you see a ribbon (flat wide wire) of cable there will be either a connector on the end that will lift out or at the computer a plastic connector attached to the computer that has a piece that will click away and the ribbon will come out. Put the new one in and put the screws back. Reboot and cross your fingers. Or you can use a USB or wireless keyboard, but that's not to portable.
Worst case get into the virtual keyboard thru access ability settings and you can use the mouse to type the letters your keyboard will not type. Good luck, Kevin

How to reset bios password for Lenovo E530

You will need to take out the back cover of the laptop and then remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard and put it back.

If you are covered under warranty then you must not open it yourself but go to the service center as opening yourself might void your warranty.

Cursor moves while typing

You may need to disable the touchpad. Your wrists may be brushing the touchpad, causing the cursor to move.

Automatically cursor jumps . When we type in the cursor automatically moves fromm one place to another

Hi,
I presume you have a touchpad under your keyboard.
Usually the hand position when you type is such, that it's very easy to involuntarily lighlty touch the touchpad with the base of your thumb, usually the right one, when you move the hand over the touchpad, mostly in the up-left direction.
This causes the cursor to move to some other place, usually up and to the left, resulting in the next characters you type being put in that place :)
Try to keep your hands a little bit more above the touchpad when you type. Also, many touchpad drivers have settings for ignoring light touches/drags, try looking into these settings in your pointing device properties.
As an aid, I would recommend a soft gel wrist support, which automatically elevates your palms above the keyboard.
