The DVD drive for my Averatec C3500 does not eject.
The DVD drive on my Averatec C3500 does not eject. It stays locked up firmly inside of the case.
It looks as though I'll have to swap out the drive unit.
The CD/DVD drive will read CD's, but I have to pry the drawer open to use the drive; it will not eject a disk, either automatically through the system or manually, by using the "eject button" on the front of the drawer.
Do I need to take the case apart to replace the DVD drive?
If so, how do I open the case?

Get a paper clip and straighten half of it out. Now look for a small hole in the face of the DVD drive. If the drive is Trayless then there should still be a small hole in the dvd location..If the DVD has a tray make sure that the laptop is powered down, insert the Paper clip in to this hole and the DVD tray will pop open.. If the DVD inserts in to the drive(Trayless), Then make sure the laptop is on and insert in to the hole that will be in this same area.
Your new install of Windows will be using generic drivers. You need to update to the specific touchpad drivers. Download them from Trigem (Averatec is a brand name owned by trigem) http://www.trigem.com/us/support/drivers.asp
Have you tried a new battery in the stylus? They require AAAA size batteries. The first time my pen went out I thought it was the computer not responding, but it turned out to be a dead stylus battery.
