SOURCE: Calibration problems Zebra TLP 2844-Z

Your printing a 3 accross label, i think your ZPL command is wrong u must define the X and Y Coordinates of each field.
This is a sample of a ZPL command that i'd wrote. Im using a 1.5 x 1 inch. label
^XA ^PRC  ^LH0,0^FS ^LL203 ^MD0 ^MNN ^LH0,0^FS
(Design No. 1) ^BY2,3.0^FO40,8^BCN,90,Y,N,N^FR^FD>:Barcode^FS ^FO64,136^AFN,45,13^CI0^FR^FDsample text^FS
(Design No.2) ^BY2,3.0^FO344,8^BCN,90,Y,N,N^FR^FD>:Barcode^FS ^FO368,136^AFN,45,13^CI0^FR^FDsample text^FS
(Design No.3) ^BY2,3.0^FO649,8^BCN,90,Y,N,N^FR^FD>:Barcode^FS ^FO673,136^AFN,45,13^CI0^FR^FDsample text^FS ^PQ1,0,0,N ^XZ ^FX End of job ^XA ^IDR:ID*.* ^XZ
I hope this will help you solve your problem...

SOURCE: One label prints, then red light comes on. We

Solid red light. This indicates the printer is in an error state and will not print until the error is cleared. Check to make sure the printer is not out of labels or out of ribbon if it is a TLP model.
A solid red light will occur if

  • the printer is out of labels
  • the printer is out of ribbon ( TLP models only )
  • the printhead is open, not latched down all the way. Press down on the top cover of the printer to see if the error light clears and goes to green.
  • the ribbon spool is slipping on the ribbon spool holder on TLP models:

SOURCE: Loading label roll into Zebra tlp2824-z printer

If you are using thermal paper and don't have to use ribbon, you will only need to spread apart the roll holsters and place the roll in there, At the front of the printer, next to the printhead and the pressure roll you will find two paper guides which you can spread apart (depending on the exact model by muving them with the fingers or by turning a wheel in the right hand side of the pressure roll. feed the paper through them guides and close the printer.

Ensure that the printing surface is at the top.

SOURCE: An extra, blank label prints from a Zebra 2746e.

Check media settings in the printer driver. Check version of printer driver. Zebra printersuse an internal printer driver with their Zebra Designer software (Zdesigner driver) or a ZUD (Zebra Universal Driver) for other windows applications. These drivers can be downloaded directly from the zebra website.

Alternatively you can download the seagull scientific driver and use that instead. (used with bartender program)

Label skipping occurs if the media dimensions are not specified correctly. The important ones are label height, and media setting for type of media.

Perform a media calibration before you go changing settings. Power on printer, Hold top and bottom buttons in on control panel for 5 seconds, release bottom button only then when printer starts feeding labels release top button. When printer finishes press feed button.

SOURCE: Zebra label alignment

you can adjust this in the template file for your price tags. how did you create your basic price tag label? in the zebra label creator? if so, make the adjustment there. if you have a .ejf file for your price tag label, you should be able to open it in notepad and add the height in pixel dots with the "q" or "Q" command from the EPL programming handbook. This can be a little tricky, but with some trial and error, you can get it.

The printing is fading, more so on left of label, but also on right side of label

Try cleaning the thermal print head. If that doesn't do the trick, the printhead may be defective.

Most likely it is a quality issue with the label you are printing on. As long as the image is printed good initially onto the media(thermal paper), the printer/software portion of it is done.

Thermal paper has a special coating and protective layer to prevent it from fading from exposure to heat, including light. But if the coating is bad then it'll show problesm like you describe

PRINTS ON ONLY HALF OF THE LABEL

If the printing clearly stops, then the maximum width setting of the printer is not set to the full 4 inches (104mm) of the printhead. Go into the setup mode on the printer and look for the setting called PRINT WIDTH and make sure it's set to 104mm or close to that. If printing is only half way across the label, it's because the width is set to something less than 104mm.

if the print fades away off the label, that is due to an imbalance in the pressure across the printhead.

Hope that helps !
