Chances are there is a lose connection to the audio jack. Do it do this when the camera is on a tripod or flat, sturdy surface with no movement? If you are adventurous enough you could find a repair manual online and attempt to open the area where the audio/mic inputs are and check the connectons there. if that's not the issue then it could be in the audio circuts and require professional repair.

You also might try an audio input through the audio line in or aux audio input and see if that stops it.

Testimonial: "Yea. Only the sound is there with nothing plugged in. It could be what u say. I might open it up and lash it with a spanner. Ok thanks."

SOURCE: how can I fix a burn spot on canon video camera xl1s?

It could be a burned pixel. If so you will need to replace the ccd imager block. If it shows up only in the viewfinder and not played back or viewed on a different monitor, then the bad pixel is in the viewfinder. Which you can replace the viewfinder but, if you oinly see it there & not in the final product, save your money &n live with it.

How to connect the canon ma-200 to the canon xl1

You can mount the MA 200 shoulder pad to the XL1 and plug the RCA connector and the mini plug into the port located on the back of camcorder, first open the door. Next, on the side panel where the audio controls are select AUDIO 1. Now assemble a mic using an XLR Cable. Then plug it into the AUDIO 1 port located on the MA 200 Shoulder pad and conduct test. if your using just one mic test the right side, take notice of the gauges located under the handle. the levels should be jumping like crazy. Now remove the XLR cable from the right side and test the left side making your desired audio levels. Now that should work with out question. If not just email me and ill refer you to the YOUTUBE VIDEO. Email me at: [email protected] Peace, Enjoy your video sound.

What setting do i use to run my cordles mic in to audio 1

Without more clarification I am assuming that you have the onboard mic plugged in normally & I don't know where the RF mic is connected.

First thing is that we know that you get sound from the shotgun mic in ch. 1. If you do not plan on using the onboard shotgun, then the fix is easy! Since it has been confirmed that ch. 1 works, just disconnect your shotgun & plug in the RF receiver to that, check your levels, and shoot away.

If you are still wanting to use that shotgun along with the RF, then I suggest that you re-read pages 51 - 54 of the instruction manual. You can find where to jack in, how to set, and change audio levels on these pages. Good Luck!

XL1s and 4 channel audio

Hi!
Unfortunately, Premiere Pro CS3 can only handle two channels of audio at a time when capturing. You could try capturing with Scenalyzer or another program that can handle four channels simultaneously.
Hope this helps!

No picture in rec mode, cam switches off in 10sec

Try using the Dummie Battery and connect that end to charger.
This way you will know that you don't have battery problems.
