Hi u don't mention what type of modem if u r using a pocket Wi Fi depending on the model on the back or inside there is a key No.u have to go to you're icon page find TOOLS ICON OR SETUP ICON CLICK ON THIS IT SHOULD TAKE U TO WIFI CLICK ON WIFI ICON THERE SHOULD B A PART WHERE U CAN PUT YOURE KEY NUMBER in AFTER U DO THIS IT SHOULD authenticate hope this helps ??
I'd make sure that you have configured the correct wireless security type. If your tablet allows both WPA and WPA2, make sure whatever you selected matches the configuration on your WiFi router. Also, the encryption algorithm has to match - AES is the most common but some older routers only support TKIP.
Hi
To connect to a WiFi system, you may need 3 pieces of information:
A username
A password
An encryption key
Once you have successfully linked to a WiFi access point then your tablet will remember the settings until told to forget them.
A lot of the time you may only need the encryption key, and if the tablet detects a WiFi access point then if you tap on that in wireless settings then it will either connect automatically or ask you for some sort of code - the encryption key. If this is not entered correctly then it will return an authentication problem/error. In order to connect you have to have this code. Also bear n mind that the code may or may not be case sensitive, and that the authentication type for both router and tablet needs to be the same. It is possible that you will only be able to change the authentication type on the Aceess Point / router and not on the tablet.
Cheers
An authentication error is an incorrect password being entered. Make sure you are typing it in correctly. Remember, passwords are case sensitive. Please check with your internet provider if you are unsure of your Wi-Fi password.

"Authentication Error" usually means when you are clicking on the desired wi-fi network and putting in your password you are making a small error in the password. ChecK:
a - You are putting in the correct CaSe. Most are CaSe SpEcIfIc so if it asks for "F" it means "F" and not "f";
b - You are not leaving any spaces before or after the password (some tablets especially seem to leave spaces.)
c - You are possibly putting in the Router Password. This is useless! you need to out in your Wireless Network KEY.
It came with your ISP letter or on a little card or is printed on the router
in the form of:
Name (SSID) Goodwombat45837
Key: HG56TY78JK88
You would type in HG56TY78JK88
Note hg56ty78jk88 would FAIL, you have put in lower case.
