Same problem.. bought a factory refurbished C875 on EBay... pictures are extremely dark (new batteries, etc). Supposedly I have a one year warrranty but I didn't receive a receipt from the EBay seller and therefore don't know how to use the warranty.

I've got the same problem. My pictures come out very dark if I take them with the flash on. If I turn the flash off, they are lighter but blured.

Checking on the first 2 comments, if there is flash and the pictures are dark - please check the lighting conditions
is it a dark place, fairly lighted or fully lighted

the flash also has a certain range, the subject may be far that the flash cannot reach it

if there is really no flash - it may be a hardware problem, pls contact kodak to arrange repairs
try going to PASM> fill flash too, if still not working - repairs =)

    experiment with the exposure compensation

turn to auto, using the toggle button, scroll to the right

the no. at the bottom right will increase (can up to +2.0)

Replacing the flashtube is not something you can do. It requires complete disassembly of the camera and delicate soldering skills. It must be sent to an authorized Kodak repair facility. It will cost a lot.

Help

If the flash is not comming on its ether a bad flash bulb or capacitor inside the unit or you do not have it set for flash, of course if you not in a well lite are without flash it would be inpossiable to get a lighter shot. I would suggest you have the camera looked at by a local camera shop it can be fixed.

Thanks hope this does help please do leave feedback and ratings for your free answer.

Dark pictures with zoom and in low light

Your best bet is to increase the ISO setting to at least 800. Don't use flash unless you're within 10 feet. My idea if a new camera would be a DSLR. Expensive, has a learning curve, but the results would be spectacular.

Please readjust the ISO: Different SCN (If you're experiencing this problem with your low light pictures try and use SCN night, the logo shows a moon and a star, with or without Flash.

Picture too dark

Do not confuse dark pictures with black pictures.
1. Flash Range
2. Exposure Compensation
3. Monitor Calibration (low monitor brightness)
4. Obstructed or covered flash
5. Obstructed or covered light sensor (only on certain models)
6. Flash not firing

NOTE:
A normal sunny outdoor scene is a good way to test the exposure metering of the camera.

Flash does not work, have good batterys

probably there's a problem with the bulb of the flash itself and the cam would need to be serviced, contact kodak for that

you can try this too
use lithium/ni-mh> powercycle (remove batt and card)> put back batt> turn to PASM> try fill flash (at the top of the cam, use flash button), flash button at the center part of the screen should be a plain lightnightning bolt, no A beside nor line across it
take a picture
if still no flash - arrange repair with kodak
