Good evening sir, i shanu owned a canon ixus 70 digital camera, the instruction booklet which i got during its purchase had been lost, and now i am experiencing a trouble with it sir, the inner lens of my camera had been closed, i hope so it might be due to some default settings. Please hepl me sir, due to this i can't take pictures, help me as soon as possible sir?

Do you mean its taking black pictures? If so, a stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).
To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. Would not recommend opening the camera as the chances are much greater
for you causing greater damage. BUT would instead recommend that you
try the seven sequential repair step outlined for a lens error in the

None of the steps outlined in this link involve opening the camera. and
reportedly you should have close to a 50% chance of success with these
techniques.

yes, this happened to me, what you have to do is "snap" the lens back in place, if it is bent anyway. if it is not bent and it says lens error, does it the lens come in and out? if not then it is bent if so then there is a hardware error in the switch and you will have to send it to a profesionall. :) hope i could be some help :)

It is most probably that your hand was in the way when the lens is trying to come out. Try restarting and make sure no obstructions are in the way of the lens.
What you are seeing is a generic message that means there is
some sort of problem with the lens, it could happen in many different
ways such as sand or dirt in the lens gears.
A couple solutions would be to either buy a defective camera online and
make one good camera from the two if you can do that sort of thing
yourself, or secondly have it repaired by somebody.
Don't bother
trying to send the camera to Canon if it is out or warranty (though you can call them and verify
what I'm about to say) because they will want $150+ to do the repair
for you. Parts are not cheap to buy from them.
