Broken Sega Game Gear.No Power,Picture or anything.Battery Acid in the Battery slot(s)Help?

You have to clean the contacts with some rubbing alcohol. Ware safety glasse and use a old tooth brush. If that dose not work then the mother board is fried.

try adjusting the brightness knob on the system. i once had that same problem with mine. The ccfl tube (the main battery drain problem in most portables) might be burnt out or something. You can replace it with LED's i think.

This will need a new voltage regulator i think, either that or the cold cathode driver is faulty.
you will need to take it to a store to get it repaired.

try replacing some of the capacitors, that is mostly what causes the problems in the gamegear, mine had the same problem.

how many games do you have and have test it?...have you tried cleaning the sega slot?
there is also a tiny chance that are the cables...

btw.. i loved that console.. i liked it more than the SNES.. you are so lucky to have it..

How to fix a stuck button on game gear
This is an easy fix. Open the Game Gear by removing the back panel. Take off the front panel, and the buttons and pads will come up. Remove the pads and buttons and clean the pads, buttons with alcohol, to remove the dirt and gunk around the buttons and pads . When finished replace the cover. Test the system. If the pads do not respond to the game, the pads may be worn down and may need replacing. There is a website called Ifixit that has the parts for the Game Gear. Go to ifixit.com to get the parts. Or go to Sega.com for help. Also call 1-800-872-7342. This is the number for SEGA . Hope this information helps.
