Generally for LCD calculators there is no adjustment of the screen that you can do.
If it's dim and battery powered, try replacing the batteries. If it's solar powered, try keeping it in strong light

SOURCE: The display is coming very faint

Most probably the batteries since I just had the same exact problem and replaced them. Works like a charm now. Takes two batteries. A76R W82.

SOURCE: Trying to get calculator to display in scientific notation

Press the [SHIFT][MODE] to access the (SETUP) screen. -See the screen capture below. Press [7:Sci] to select the output display format to be Scientific.
You will then be prompted to key in a number between 0 and 9 to choose the number of decimal digits.

If you do not want fractions nor radicals set the default Input/Output format to LineIO.
To do so press [SHIFT][MODE][2:LineIO]. After that perform the steps given above to select Scientific format for the output.

Factorial key

14! is an eleven-digit number. The only way your ten-digit calculator can display that number is to convert it to scientific notation. A twelve-digit calculator such as a TI-89 can display that number, but 23! is a 23-digit number and even a TI-89 cannot display that number.

Display is faint and to light to read

Turn the calculator on. Hold down the "C" key (just above the ON key) and press + to darken the screen. If you go too far, use the C and - keys to lighten the screen.

How do i use the log function on my ba ii Calculator?

To calculate the natural logarithm of the value in the display, just press the LN button. If you need the common (base-10) logarithm, compute it as ln(x)/ln(10). That is, divide the natural logarithm of the value divided by the natural logarithm of ten.
