I plan to upgrade to W7 Pro on the church's desktop AX1200-B1601A and would like to do that on a second hard drive (as the XP drive doesn't have the space even after compressing, etc.) Is there a second hard drive slot and cabling (comm and power) that supports this?
The best way to be sure is to open the case and look.
(this will show you if the drive must be PATA or SATA as well)
But, according to Acer, there is room.
It also may be more effective to simply replace the primary drive with a larger capacity drive.
Testimonial: "I will open the case the next time I am there with tools. I'd prefer to add in a drive so that the original would be still available with all the apps - just if needed for reference."
SOURCE: Adding extra internal hard drive.
make sure you pc is turned off before you start. To add additional internal hard drive you will need to get SATA hard drive. when you open up your pc there will be a slot to put it in. on the new hard drive there will a display with shows you how to make that hard drive a slave. move the little thing to the right place and plug it in. when you restart it should read it .

Hi rip195454
Sounds like your hard drive is close to failure.
If I was you I would transfer all the important files, pictures, etc from the hard drive to a portable hard drive as quickley as possible.
Time to replace the hard drive in your PC, besure you have the restore discs that came with the machine, or that you made when the computer was new as you will need them when you put a new hard drive in your desktop.
