Under the front panel is several more screws pull these and the front panel will come off.you may find it easier to replace the swich from the top (I do) there are three screws on the rear of the top remove these and push back on the top and bingo the door switch is right there on the right about a foot down. good luck its fun either way you decide to go

ERROR CODE F, then flash dl

F/dL - Door Lock Error

Condition: A Door Lock Error occurs if the door cannot be unlocked. It will try to lock it 6 times before displaying the error. Check or repair the following:
- Door Lock Mechanism broken or removed from the Door
- Check Door Lock/Switch Assembly
- Check the wire harness connections to the Door Lock/Switch Assembly and Central Control Unit (CCU)
- Door Lock/Switch Assembly Failure

Here is a way to gain access to your washer if the door is locked shut:
1. Remove the lower panel under the door by loosening the three screws under the bottom edge on the front of the washer. HINT: If you prop up the front feet of the washer with some small blocks of wood, this will make access to the screws much easier.
2. With the screws removed, the lower panel should drop down then come off. If the panel sticks, a light tap on either side will knock it loose.
3. Reach your hand up inside the washer behind the front casing on the right-hand side. This is where the door latch assembly is located.
4. At the bottom of the door latch assembly is a small pull tab. This is the manual release for the door. Pull the tab straight down and the door will come open.

Sometimes these doors will not unlock for whatever reason. If there are no error codes being generated, this could have just been a momentary glitch. If you see "Fdl" or "Fdu" error codes, these are usually indications of a failed door latch assembly and will require replacement. You can also try to reset the CCU by unplugging the washer for at least 30 minutes.

I hope this helps (remember to rating and leave a testimonial comment about this free answer) Thank you for using Fixya..

Error code 41

The error code E41 means the control board is detecting an open door switch. It might be due to a broken wire harness, broken door lock/switch assembly, or in worst cases a faulty control board.

Unplug the machine or disconnect power. Open the washer door then look for the retaining hoop securing the door seal around the lip of the door opening. Stretch the spring of the retaining hoop then remove it.

jahn27_446.jpg

Carefully peel off the part of the door seal from the lip of the door opening near the door lock/switch assembly. Remove enough of the door seal to gain access to the door lock and switch assembly.

jahn27_447.jpg

Remove the screws securing the door lock/switch assembly
to the front panel. Once the screws are removed, lift the door lock and switch assembly then pull it away from the front panel.

jahn27_448.jpg

Take the door lock/switch assembly out of the front panel then
disconnect the door switch harness then short circuit the terminals by putting a jumper wire between them.

jahn27_449.jpg

Put the door lock/switch assembly back into position in the front panel then secure it with the securing screws previously removed.
Properly put the eased part of the door seal back over the lip of the door opening then secure it with the retaining hoop. Reconnect power and run a test cycle. Replace the door lock and switch assembly (part #131763202) to address the problem if the washer works fine with the door switch bypassed. If not, replace the control board.

The code f-DL displays whn I try to start the machine . I was thinking the door lock was jambed so I used a flat tip screw driver to jog the lock. The problem now is the lock is now locked and won't...

Remove the screws attaching the bottom flange of the lower front panel to the machine cabinet then pull the panel down and off. You can prop up the bottom front edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to access and remove the screws more easily. Once the panel is off, reach up along the inside of the front panel and locate the bottom of the door lock and switch assembly on the right side. Locate the tear-drop shaped tab then gently pull it down until a click is heard.
jahn27_414.jpg

You can also remove the door gasket retaining hoop by stretching apart the retaining spring at the bottom of the door opening. Gently peel the part of the door gasket near the door lock/latch assembly off the lip of the right side of the door opening. Remove enough of the door gasket to access the door lock/latch assembly behind the front panel. Pull down gently on the release tab until a click is heard.

The FdL code indicates a door lock failure and you need to replace the door lock/switch assembly if the problem persists after resetting the door lock. Click on the link below for the details of the procedure.

Dr error code

“do” or “dr” - door problem. The door is not locking, the control is not able to confirm the door is locked. Might just be corrosion on the door lock connection. Or a bad door lock OR an item in the door keeping the door from locking. Manual and more here

44082 is the model #

he code "dr" means the control doesn't see the door switch being closed. This can mean the door catch is broken or the door is bent and not shutting all the way or clothes are preventing the door from shutting all the way but most likely it means the door lock assembly needs to be replaced.
Check the door strike is not broken and make sure the door is shutting evenly. If the door is shut fully and the "dr" error keeps occurring then replacing the lock assembly 131763245 will most likely fix this problem.
The switch can be obtained from the following link: Sears PartsDirect . Remember to unplug the washer first before attempting to change the switch.
The image below contains the instructions to access and change the latch. Changing the latch is easy the tough part is putting the spring back on. Sometimes it helps to have two extra hands when trying to reinstall the wire/spring.
I hope this information helps you resolve this problem but submit another question with any additional details for further assistance.

Kenmore 45986 door lock

This advice is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet model front loading washers. If you experience a problem where the door becomes jammed and will not unlock or open, here's an easy way to gain access inside your washer WITHOUT calling the repairman.

Sometimes these doors will not unlock for whatever reason. If there are no error codes being generated, this could have just been a momentary glitch. If you see "Fdl" "DLE" or "Fdu" error codes, these are usually indications of a failed door latch assembly and will require replacement.

Frigidaire Affinity ATF7000ESI - won't spin

I just had this problem with my Frigidaire Affinity ATF7000EE0.

When the machine seems to work fine (as it will wash but just won't kick into a spin cycle) it is most likely the door lock/switch assembly. In addition to the actual door lock solenoid and door closed switch, the assembly contains a secondary lock in the form of a wax motor and an auxiliary switch. This wax motor and switch activates during the spin cycle. When the wax motor goes bad the secondary lock does not activate therefore the spin cycle switch does not activate, which in turn disables the spin cycle. Even though you can hear your door lock kick in and the door is locked it is most likely the secondary lock in this switch assembly. Start by replacing it first.

Unplug the washer unless you want to get shocked! Take out the two screws at the back of the washer that holds on the washer top and remove the top by sliding towards the back of the machine and lift up. You can go to the front of the machine and reach down inside to the door lock while removing the two screws that hold it in from the outside front of the machine. Once the lock is removed there should be enough wire slack to get the lock up above the tub before you go and try to unplug any connections. Make sure and make notes as to where your connections go on the switch. Simply unplug the old switch and plug your new lock assembly in, remount it, and put the top back on. You should be good to go.

One note, don't panic if you select spin cycle and it doesn't start spinning immediately. Wax motors actuate very slow and smoothly. It could take up to a minute for the lock and switch mechanism to get into place before the spin will start.

Have a great day!
