Hi Charlotte,

The video doesn't show what you describe. The video shows that Windows is loading. Try booting in safe mode. Here's how:

Power up the machine. When the Dell logo appears, start tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears amd choose "Windows Safe Mode." Once windows starts, backup your data just in case. Then try to determine what it was you did last that may have caused the problem. Then try to start normally.

My Dell inspiron 1454 keeps goin to sleep or standby whenever i type on the internet, when i watch a video its fine. I have set the settings so it never goes to sleep or to a screensaver so it is not that...

I have been reading up about this problem
quite a few people have been having the same problem

i find this one difficult to believe but people are saying that when you wear a magnetic braclet
this can cause it to happen and someone else stated that it was the braclet when worn next to her watch

also i found this article somewhere

Click start and type in Power Options and click on it.
Click Change when the computer sleeps.
Change battery and power plugged in all to never
Also chage hard drive to turn of never or give to turn off
Click apply and ok
Go to Control Panel
System
Device Manager.
Network Adapters
Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN Mini-Card
Click on Properties.
Click on the Power Management tab, and uncheck all options.
maybe you have to apply and ok if the option is there

I have an Inspiron 1525 Notebook and I turn it on and it starts like it is suppose to and then Right before I get to my sign on page it goes to a blank gray screen, What could be wrong

it could be corrupt windows or your resolution in windows was set to high that your monitor does not support or you may have installed the wrong video driver or if you have daul video outs the secondary may be enebled thru windows causing the monitor on laprop to turn off thinking its on ext video!

DELL LAPTOP INSPIRON 6400 MY LAPTOP BATTERY IS SHOWING STATUS ( UNKNOWN ) ON WINDOWS & ON BIOS IT SAYSS BATTERY NOT INSTALLED

Here are my recommendations for this issue:

1. Reseat the battery.
2. Remove All External Components
3. Check the battery connectors on the battery and the system. Examine the connector on the battery and the system. Make sure that there is no physical damage and that it is clear of debris.
4. Remove All External Components
5. Try a known-good battery in the system, if available.
