SOURCE: Leaking cuisinart grind and brew

Our Cuisinart grind and brew was leaving a puddle under it after making a pot of coffee. I called Cuisinart this week and it turns out the handle of the carafe has to be lined up in the middle of the opening for the carafe. It will be under the word Cuisinart, in the middle.

We have now made several pots with NO residual puddle of water or coffee. It also seems to be making the pots quicker.

Before trying this I had run 2 pots of water with 1/2 cup white vinegar in it also. But it still puddled until we lined up the carafe as noted above.

SOURCE: My DGB-500 Cuisinart Grind & Brew coffee maker leaks coffee

I found out that internally the water line that comes off of the heating element is made of a rubber/silicon material. The heating element is so hot that it scorches or dryrots the tube and it cracks causeing leaking. Sometimes it comes pouring out and other times it just is enough to make it a pain. I have taken the time to get my specialized screwdriver set and take off the bottom of the pot, but have not been able to find a replacement tube for it. (They also made the tube so that you dont have enough to cut the broken end off and put it back on and if you COULD do it, they also put an "X" in the original tube so if you cut it and try to put it on you cannot push it on far enough. Other than this, it was a great coffee brewer for me for the past four years. (Put baking soda and water paste on the coffee stain if you have formica counters. A few times of doing that and the stain will come clean)

Prepare the pot the night before and by morning all the water in the reservoir is on the floor or the counter!

I have had our Bur Grinder Cuisinart for a little under a yr. with no issues until recently when it started flooding my counter top. I could tell it had something to do with the lid or filter button that touched the lid b/c coffee would begin to "pool" and then flood over the sides onto my counter. I contacted the number listed below on 10.25.12 and was told our model's lid had a defect and they would send me a new one to resolve the issue.

After it is done grinding and starts to brew it leaks coffee all over my counter. I have tried stopping it after the grind turning off the grind and just brew and putting it on strong and less cups. But...

Try taking the lid to the carafe and soaking in vinegar/ water. Then use as strong a jet of water as you can get from your faucet to blast the crud out from the chamber in the lid. You'll have to try different angles, they did not make that part easy to clean. (I have the same one). Also try taking the grinding basket lid and separate the 2 halves, they just click together and make sure nothing is stuck in there. Good luck!

My Cuisinart 10 cup Grind & Brew does not finish the brew cycle. After brewing 2 cups of coffee, it beeps 5 times as if the brew cycle has ended. Then it continues to drip very very slowly. It's only...

you need to run a few pots of straight white vinegar through the machine to clean out the lime build up in the tubes. the first time you do it, after it starts to pump the water, shut it off for a few hours and let the vinegar sit in the tubes. after doing this run a few pots of cold water through before making coffee.

Cuisinart grind and brew

This happens when the machine needs cleaned. Fill coffee maker with white vineger instead of water. Turn grind off, make sure empty pot is in place. Brew a pot of hot vineger. Repeat. Brew a pot of hot water. Repeat. This process removes mineral buildups inside machine. If you have access to filtered water, start using that to brew your coffee. I do and probably do this process 1 per 6 weeks.

Brand new, first run, leaking?

You must have the carafe lid ON. The reason is the lid has a dome on top that pushes up to let the brewed coffee come down. With the pot off look in there with a flashlight....you'll see that the 1 inch dome pushes up on the spring loaded stem.
You MUST have the lid in place or the brewed coffee won't drain into the pot.
